A little bit about me

I'm a 19 year old babysitter/nanny. I work part time as an elementary special education para/substitute teacher during the school year, and have been working in childcare since my early teens. I've taken care of kids from a few months old to preteens, as well as children with special needs, neurodivergencies, and medical conditions.

Note: I do not currently have a car and cannot transport children, however I do have reliable rides to and from location.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I work during the school year as a substitute teacher, working most often as a special education para for children aged 5-12 with a variety of needs and behaviors.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

With older children, I enjoy board/card games, imaginative play, and creative activities like painting and crafts, as well as going on walks, to playgrounds, playing yard games, and other outdoor fun, and engaging them in age appropriate life skill activities such as helping to cook and do household chores.

For younger children, infants and young toddlers, I think it's important to engage them with their surroundings and incite exploration through toys, sensory activities, and communication. Activities like sorting, stacking, rolling, experiencing different materials and textures, and communicative activities like reading, explaining mundane things, and pointing out things in their surroundings act to both keep young children entertained, and aid their mental and motor skills.

My experience with special needs children...

I've cared for children with a range of needs and behaviors, such as ADHD, autism, including non-verbal and high behavioral, and PTSD, as well as some physical disabilities such as diabetes and motor function disorders.
