A little bit about me

Hello, my name is Theresa Rico and I am currently attending Long Beach City College and I am majoring in Psychology. What I want to do with psychology is help children who have been through hard times and traumatic events to help them cope and recover and feel safe. I have always wanted to protect and help people in general and working with kids has really gave me joy. I have volunteered at the fort babtist church in LA as a children’s ministry assistant there I supervised the children and created activities and played games and read to them as well. I worked at Camp wilderness with ages 6-11 there I needed to be extra responsible due to working with children with disabilities such as adhd/add and autism. I created activities, and games for the children and I created a summary and log for the parents to let them know how their child’s day went. I baby sat my family members son for about 3 months when I started he was about 10 months.
