A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Timber and I love kids! I have worked with kids for most of my life. At an early age I became a lead qualified preschool teacher and received my associates in childhood development. From there I have either worked in a professional daycare or nanny setting. I work with children from 0-15 years. I have infant and toddler experience as well. Most of my classrooms were infants and toddlers! I have moved recently and am looking for the job I love to do! I can't wait to be part of many developmental stages, as I am looking to work for a family for a while! I live in the colorado springs area and I have my own car as well as a first aid/cpr/aed card. I am open to a monday - friday schedule but would be willing to help out on days you need me as well.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I lesson plan EVERY week for different activities and crafts. One of my favorite activities includes drawing curriculum with chalk. That way the kids can draw numbers and letters big and as much as they want to without having to fit it on a tiny piece of paper. Even if they are too young to be learning the curriculum, they are acquiring knowledge in other ways-from the feeling of the chalk against their fingers to the bright colors they see. It is an amazing sensory activity as well. They can be as creative as they want with no worries! I always try to plan activities that cater to each individual child as well. What works for some, will not work for others, and that’s okay!

My experience with special needs children...

It has been a blessing to meet and provide care to so many amazing children with special needs. I have experience supporting children, and adults, with complex medical needs requiring adaptive equipment and assistance with daily living skills. I have also provided care to children with cognitive disabilities as well.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moments of being a nanny would definitely be seeing the joy in their faces when they accomplish difficult tasks and realize that they are, in fact, capable of completing things even without their nanny sometimes. Supervised independence is so important!
