A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Tori and I am 24 years old. I have lived in Denver for a year and a half, previously lived in the midwest where i graduated with a bachelors in psychology! My passion is adolescent mental health but have been working with kids since high school and have loved every second of it. I started with babysitting which led to working with kids with disabilities using Applied Behavior Analysis. I am a certified registered behavior technician with safety training and CPR certification. I just recently decided to get out of the ABA field to pursue my masters degree. A nannying job would be a perfect fit as I go through my journey as a graduate student!

I have worked with an amazing behavior services clinic located in Denver for the past year dealing with high intensity behaviors with children from 18 months to 16 years. This passion started when my high school started a after school programs for special ed students.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love crafts, running and playing and being outside! I know every childrens song in the book and am so up to date with all the cool kid stuff. I always use youtube for fun kid videos like going on a bear hunt, kids yoga and the floor is lava! I know them by heart by now which im not sure if thats a good or a bad thing!

The most important part about being a nanny...

My take at being a nanny is to be so much fun and teach them cool things, to get down to their level and make them feel heard and understood but I also see the importance for boundaries and how to naturally go about navigating those tricker situations in a positive way.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked specifically with special needs children since 2017, working with two different ABA companies to teach children targeted goals from functional communicatin training, fine/gross motor movement, self-regualtion, manding and tacting, and social skills!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Playing in the yard with the sprinkler and getting shot with a water gun! I also loved dinner time with the kids, they'll say the funniest things.
