I have also worked in two child care centers becoming an assistant teacher in the toddler room, but I also had time in the infant and preschool rooms as well.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked as a special education paraprofessional in the school district, one year in elementary with children from kindergarten to fifth grade and one year in middle school with sixth to eighth graders. The students I worked with were on the autism spectrum or the EBD spectrum and I worked with a few other diagnosis including downs syndrome and speech and language disorders. What I learned is every child has their own talents and it is such a reward to be part of their day helping them to achieve becoming more independent in school one task at a time.
