Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I used to work at a Chinese daycare and took care of 13 pre-school kids, with another adult but as the supervisor. She didn’t know how to speak Chinese so it was mainly me doing everything. Givin this was over summer, so in the morning they would play. After everyone arrived we would do a lesson, normally the alphabet or read a book. They would have snack, then they would play. Before and after lunch they would have free play outside. After lunch/free play they would come inside for naptime. Then the same process as in the mornings
My experience with special needs children...
At school we have a club called Best Buddies. Where we create a friendship with students who have special abilities. Personally I always have a peer buddy. Which is when you get paired up with someone. You meet as many times during the week as you want and have lunch or just hang out. We do a Best Buddies Prom and the Friendship walk in San Fransisco.
