While I was in high school I started babysitting as my first real job. After I graduated, I went full-time straight into childcare. I taught at KinderCare for about a year with the occasional babysitting on the weekends and nannying on the side. Now I work my family owned business and still take part time kids that fit into my current schedule!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to keep kids outside as much as possible on a nice day. Whether it’s exploring nature, active games, trips to the park, or seasonal fun. Outdoor activities make for a great nap! As for indoor activities I love arts and crafts, building,
learning games, cooking or baking with their “help”, movie nights after an active day!

The most important part about being a nanny...
I once worked with a two year-old girl that when you asked “what sound does dad’s truck make?” Who drove a big and diesel truck. She would make the sound spot on. It was the cutest and funniest thing! Her dad would also bring her to school without her hair done sometimes and would be panicking that his wife would be picking her up with her crazy morning hair. So I would do it to keep her dad from getting into trouble.😆
I also had an infant boy that they would have to call me at feeding time because he would only take his bottle for me.
I didn’t work Friday the time, but I worked a Friday for a 6 year old boy I was nannying because he had begged his mom to have me take him to his after school thing at the Y. I’m so happy I did because it made his day. He had never made s’mores before so I taught him there. It quickly became his favorite snack!
I love nannying because I get to be apart of everyday growth and building strong trusting relationships it is incredibly rewarding!
