A little bit about me

Hi, my name is Tyara Bassett and I am 24 years old. I’ve been working with children and 5 years now and I love it. I have such a passion for working with kids, I am hardworking, dedicated, and reliable. I meal prep, love to clean, and I am a very organized type of person. My favorite age group to work with are toddlers, because they’re so innocent and can brighten up your day so easily. I love having fun and interacting with the children, so when I make my lesson plans I really try to do things that I know the child would love so it would be easier for them to pay attention and grasp things because it is something they really like.I think I would be a great person to consider for a nanny for your child . Thank you for taking the time to read a little about me.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

The YMCA where I was a camp counselor/after school teacher for children 7-8 years of age. I have worked for 2 daycares, one is Rainbow village where I was a lead/assistant teacher/floater for 2 years for children ages rounding from infants to 5 years of age but majority 2-3 years old when I wasn’t floating around the center; the other daycare was called New Generations, there I was co-teacher for children 3-4, and I floated between classroom sometimes and I would be children ages rounding from 1 to 10. At the beginning quarantine I started nannying for a family I used to babysit on weekends, at that time I was nannying for 2 families one has twin 3 years old girls and the other family has a 1 year old and a 3 year old.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love reading with children, taking them outside to ride their bikes, doing arts and crafts, doing science experiments with them, and my favorite thing to do with children is letting them do free play so I can see what they really like doing so when I create lesson plans we can do more things that are appealing to them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The impact that you have on children, and the fact that as a nanny you are caring for children so you have to be enthusiastic, have a love for children, and be trustworthy. Also, always making the best decisions based on his or her health and well being.

My experience with special needs children...

My nephew is 3 years old and was diagnosed with autism. He doesn’t know how to speak so when he gets upset he throws tantrum and throws whatever is in his hand at the moment. So I’ve been working with him to try a find a way to get him to use his words instead of getting so upset. He also has sickle cell and that is the reason he is not talking yet. A few years ago he had a sickle cell crisis where he had to learn to walk and talk again and pretty much do everything again. Also from the time I was on 6th grade til the time I graduated high school I would volunteer to go in the special needs classroom to read to the students and do different activities with them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment is when one day it was time for me to go home and the twins I watch one of them started crying cause she didn’t want me to leave. I stayed for another hour but she ended crying again when it was time for me to leave, then once I left her mom called me and told me she wanted to talk to me and I finally got her to stop crying. It was very bittersweet but really cute made me realize how big of an impact I have on the children.
