One of my favorite moments as a nanny happened during a rainy day when outdoor plans were suddenly canceled. The children and I decided to create our own indoor "camping trip." We built a blanket fort in the living room, complete with fairy lights and pillows. We then pretended to go on a nature hike around the house, collecting
“specimens” like stuffed animals and toys. The highlight was when we made s'mores in the microwave and told stories with a flashlight. The children's faces lit up with joy and wonder, turning a gloomy day into an extraordinary adventure. This experience highlighted the magic of imagination and the special bonds that form through shared creativity.
