More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were woven into my everyday life growing up as the oldest sister in my family. I naturally stepped into a nurturing role, helping with meals, homework, bath time, bedtime routines, and making sure my younger siblings always felt safe and loved. Over the years, I also babysat my nieces, younger cousins, and neighborhood children, becoming someone parents trusted and kids felt comfortable around. I’ve planned crafts, imaginative games, outdoor play, and quiet story times, always encouraging creativity and confidence. I’m patient, gentle, and attentive to emotional needs, making sure children feel heard and supported. Caring for little ones has never felt like a task to me, it’s something that genuinely brings me joy, and I take pride in creating a warm, positive space wherever I am.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Activities I love doing with children are the ones that let their little personalities shine. I adore arts and crafts, painting, drawing, and fun DIY projects where they can create something all their own. Imaginative play and storytelling are some of my absolute favorites because I love stepping into their world and watching their creativity come alive. I also enjoy baking simple treats together, building cozy forts, playing board games, and turning everyday moments into something special. Being outdoors makes me so happy, so I love park trips, nature walks, sidewalk chalk, bike rides, and letting kids safely explore and burn off energy. I truly believe play is powerful, and I always aim to create joyful, encouraging experiences that help children feel confident, inspired, and completely themselves.
The most important part about being a nanny...
the most important part about being a nanny is creating a safe, loving, and positive space where children feel seen, heard, and supported. it’s about patience, kindness, and understanding..being someone they can trust and rely on while they explore, learn, and grow. i believe it’s also about encouraging creativity, curiosity, and confidence, while respecting each child’s unique personality and needs. a great nanny balances care with fun, structure with freedom, and always leads with empathy, so kids not only feel safe but also truly happy and inspired in their everyday moments.
My experience with special needs children...
My experience with special needs children comes primarily from growing up alongside my sister, who has autism. Being her older sibling allowed me to develop patience, understanding, and empathy from a young age. I’ve learned the importance of clear communication, gentle redirection, consistency in routines, and recognizing emotional cues that may not always be expressed verbally. While I do not claim to be a specialist, I am familiar with sensory sensitivities, the need for structured environments, and approaching situations calmly and respectfully. Supporting my sister has helped me understand that every child experiences the world differently, and I believe in meeting children where they are with kindness and flexibility. I am always open to learning more, following parents’ guidance closely, and adapting to ensure each child feels safe, valued, and supported in a way that works best for them.
The most important part about being a nanny...
my favorite “nanny” moment was when i helped my little cousin put on a mini “art show” at home. we spent the whole afternoon painting, crafting, and making little decorations, and then she proudly showed off every piece like a tiny gallery. seeing her confidence, excitement, and pure joy made me so happy..it was one of those moments where i realized how much kids can shine when they’re encouraged and supported. i love being part of those little victories, big laughs, and moments of creativity that kids remember, and it always reminds me why caring for children is so special to me.

Full-Time Nanny Available in Summerville, SC: Oakland P.
Hello, my name is Oakland!
I have had the pleasure of being a sitter for 8 years now. Connecting with families, building relationships, and making parents lives easier is my specialty. While most families do not invision a male when searching for a sitter; I am a diffrent breed, being raised by a household of women, I am a perfectionist. Housekeeping will always be included in my services because I can't stand a mess. I also love to cook and can always ensure full bellys in my presence. I am a firmly believe children learn kindness through receiving it; While also understanding the importance of being direct. But in all my experience, I have learned the most important thing is preference. I always ensure each household is given what they expect.
