Hi I’m Sylvia a 23 year old mom to a sweet two year old boy and moving to Deerfield from out of state. I have years of caregiving experience working exclusively with children and individuals with special needs. I’m CPR certified and hold CBRF certifications in fire safety first aid and choking medication administration and standard precautions so safety is always a priority. I make it my business to treat every child as if they were my own just as I do with every client I’ve cared for. I’m also a college student studying accounting and possibly finance this semester which helps me stay organized and focused. I bring patience energy and reliability to every day and love engaging kids in fun age appropriate activities while keeping routines on track and helping busy families stay on top of daily life. Raising my own two-year-old son has given me hands-on experience with everything from bottles and diapers to toddler meals, nap schedules, and keeping a busy little one entertained and learning.

Professionally, I’ve cared for children of all ages, including infants and toddlers, with a focus on feeding, naps, and safe, fun activities. I’ve also worked with children who have special needs, which taught me patience and how important it is to support each child’s unique routines and abilities. Alongside direct care, I’ve helped with school pick-ups, driving to activities, light household chores, and keeping play areas tidy so parents can focus on their busy schedules.

I love engaging kids in fun, age-appropriate activities that help them grow and explore their world. Some of my favorite things to do include reading books together, singing songs, doing arts and crafts, playing outside at the park, and exploring nature on little walks. I enjoy building with blocks, playing pretend games, and introducing simple learning activities like counting, colors, and shapes. For older children, I love helping with homework, encouraging their interests, and finding creative ways to make learning fun. Most of all, I love seeing kids light up when they’re having fun and discovering something new.

My experience with special needs children...

Since 2020, I’ve dedicated my career to working with individuals who have special needs, including children who require extra support and care. Through my CBRF certifications, I’m trained and experienced in safely passing medications, providing personal care, and assisting clients who are non-ambulatory or unable to care for themselves independently. This experience has taught me patience, compassion, and how to adapt care to each person’s unique abilities and needs.

I’m confident in handling medical routines, supporting mobility, and creating a safe, nurturing environment where children with special needs can thrive. Caring for others is something I take great pride in, and I approach every child as if they were my own.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was when a shy toddler I cared for ran up to hug me and proudly showed me a drawing he made “for Miss Sylvia.” That moment reminded me how much trust and love children can give when they feel safe and cared for.

As a mom, my favorite moment with my own son was watching his face light up the first time he said “mama.” It made all the sleepless nights and hard work totally worth it.
