More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked for 25 years for a local nonprofit that cares for babies, children and youth in foster care and residential homes. All the kids in the programs have overcome trauma and mental health issues. There have been times where I would do coverage for a counselor. I have gotten to know many of these children throughout the years. To me, they are not statistics. They are real and they deserve to be a child or a teenager. I have been laid off due to COVID but I am still involved by assisting with their fundraising efforts.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to dance. I love taking the kids to the park to play on nice mornings. I love reading with children. I'm not an expert but I can manage some art and crafts.

I think the most important part about being a nanny is their humanity. If you have a heart, you will gain the child's trust and respect.

My experience with special needs children...

My niece and nephew are on the Autism Spectrum. I used to frequently babysit them. They're grown now and I'm so proud of them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

There are so many and it's hard for me to choose one moment. The last time was when I watched my neighbor's kids. We were playing a game about words and silly sentences. To me, my favorite moments would be whenever I hear children's laughter.
