Hi! My name is Kyla. I am 17 years old a Junior at Portland High. I’ve been working with kids forever. I volunteer my time to the Special Olympics Program through my school. I’ve been doing this for over 3 years now. I work with kids ranging from 7th graders to 21 year olds in our extended program. I plan event for them, help them with communication skills, make friends and teach them different sports. I also do a program in the summertime called ESY. There I work with pre-schoolers. Each child there has some type of disability. Some have autism, some can’t walk, some only have certain organs developed etc. There I teach them basic life skills aswell as make a fun camp day. I love working with children I plan to be a pediatric Occupational therapist because this is my true passion, helping kids. I also will have my drivers licenses in a few weeks :)
