A little bit about me

Within the last few years, I have worked with different age groups within different educational settings. I was a Jumpstart Corps member where I worked with TK and Kindergarten to build literacy skills, social skills, and language skills. I have worked as a floating daycare assistant where I worked with infants and young children. My responsibilities varied from diaper changing, leading small group instruction, outside supervision, singing, reading books, and much more. I worked primarily with the 6 month olds to 2 1/2 year olds. Most recently, I was a teacher’s assistant at a primary center for 2 1/2 years. There I worked primarily with struggling students and/or English learners in Kinder and 1st grade. Here I grew my knowledge of the curriculum aspect of childcare. I was in charge of building my own lesson plans, small group instruction, outside supervision, and much more. I have a huge passion for helping children grow academically, socially, emotionally, and everything in between.
