More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I began caring for children in middle school by babysitting for family friends, which sparked my love for working with kids even more. During my junior and senior years of high school, I was enrolled in a dual enrollment course in early childhood education where I spent part of my school day assisting in first and second grade classrooms. I also volunteered at school carnivals, tutoring sessions, and lunchtime mentoring programs for middle schoolers interested in education. After graduating, I began working as a morning instructor at an elementary school (Dec 2023–present), where I create and teach my own lesson plans, lead classroom activities and support students during their morning routines. I’ve also served in my church’s children’s ministry since 2018.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy engaging children in creative, enriching activities like arts and crafts, educational games, storytelling, and imaginative play. I also love taking kids outdoors for nature walks, simple sports, or just time in the fresh air. I enjoy helping with homework, creating mini lessons or enrichment activities, and encouraging learning through play. My goal is always to make activities both fun and meaningful.
The most important part about being a nanny...
To me, the most important part about being a nanny is building a trusting, supportive relationship with both the children and their families. A nanny isn’t just a caregiver, they’re a role model, a helper, a safe space, and often an extension of the family. I believe in nurturing children’s growth, encouraging their creativity, and supporting their emotional and developmental needs with patience, love, and consistency.
My experience with special needs children...
I’ve had the privilege of caring for three of my cousins who have special needs, and I’ve always taken the time to understand and meet their individual needs with patience and love. In high school, I also took an art class that included students with special needs, where I served as a peer mentor and supported them during class activities. These experiences taught me to be adaptable, empathetic, and attentive to every child’s unique way of communicating and learning.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite moments as a nanny and childcare provider was helping a shy student open up during morning instruction time. Over the course of a few weeks, I worked closely with him on small enrichment activities and games, and one day he surprised everyone by confidently participating in a group reading activity. Watching his confidence grow reminded me of why I love working with children, helping them feel seen, supported, and celebrated.
