The most important part of being a nanny is providing an environment where the child/children are cared for and protected. I also think providing a clean and relaxing environment for the parents to come home to after a long day is important as well!
My experience with special needs children...
I don’t have much experience with special needs children other than autistic children. I have 2 cousins that are autistic. I grew up with one and the other I watched grow up. I helped take care of the younger one occasionally.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I Nannied for a family for 5-6 years and the mom and daughter called me out of the blue about a year after I moved away. She called to get my address and tell me she missed me. She wanted my address to send me her school pictures she had saved for me! :) That was probably the most touching thing I have experienced in a while.
