I love doing whatever interests the child the most, but if I had to pick a favorite I'd have to say playing pretend! I love using our imaginations to make up our fun little games.

My experience with special needs children...
I have a lot of experience with children with autism and behavior issues. I've noticed that not taking any personally is key. I make sure to keep calm and collected and explain to them why that behavior isn't okay instead of just getting angry with them. A lot of clear communication and redirecting are key when watching over a child with such needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
A little while back when I was working for an after-school program on my first day I was warned about a child with behavior issues due to having a really bad home life. So instead of getting mad at him, I set clear boundaries and had open communications with him and he ended up becoming super close with me, even closer than all of the other children I had been watching.
