Summer Magic program for ages k-8. Creating activities, schedules, meals, always found myself learning as I was teaching ended up starting a similar program on Tybee Island and it is still up and running after I moved here to CA.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I like to learn their interests and help them learn new ones as well to broaden horizons. Gardening, trying guitar, art projects, games of all sorts. Have a few favorites that I believe are also lessons in life. Battleship, go fish, chess, painting, and also relaxation time is helpful and healthy

My experience with special needs children...
One of my jobs was with a young man with cerebral palsy which allowed me to realize what limitations he needed help with and the ones he needed to be doing on his own. In the 2 years I cared for him he was able to get himself in a physical, mental and emotional self reliant happy way of life. Unfortunately I was no longer needed so instead he became and still is one of my great friends.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Alena, my Lady child. She was headstrong and knew what she wanted in life. I helped her family for 8years and she ended up being like my assistant with her 2 sisters and older brother! Helped with their crazy curls and homework everything. She turned 18 and was dating the same boy(emphasis on boy) for awhile and wanted so bad to get married and have kids. For her birthday I gave her a rescue puppy I found. She made that sweet dog named Piper her focus. After awhile her and said boy broke up. She still loves Piper more than anything. Then here comes the epic love of her life...David. They love Piper together for a long while. I get pics and calls. Now their 1st Penelope is so gorgeous and happy. About a week ago she called me crying and I asked what was wrong. She said "How did you know what to do?" I just knew what she meant. She thanked me for letting her choose and not telling her that her choices were wrong. My heart dropped to my stomach and then shot to my throat and I cried happy
