The most important part about being a nanny...
I think it is important to remember a nanny should always pay attention and listen to kids and understand their needs and feelings before replying. A nanny needs to provide a safe and stable and secure comfortable environment. As a nanny, should an emergency situation arise you need to have experience and knowledge with the proper way manage the situation. As a nanny it is really important to develop new skills with the children you care for. I always remember to provide a loving environment for the children in my care.

I have worked as Para Pro with autistic and Down syndrome high school aged children. I did this part time until I retired from RCS.
The most important part about being a nanny...
There were many times I had a sweet moment with the children I cared for. One in Particular was with a 6 year old girl. I asked her what does friendship mean. She told me this list:
They should be loving and nice, honest, forgiving, fun, kind, and like to share. I thought to myself how wonderful a six year old could have such a wonderful view on what friendship means! She made me realize how important it was to have and make new friends! Even a 6 year old knows the meaning of friendship! She also wanted to see me during summer break to give me a picture she drew. She definitely missed me and I was so happy I made such impression that she let her parents know that she wanted to have a visit with me! It just melted my heart!
