A little bit about me

My name is Yolanda and I'm 23 years old. I have been babysitting/nannying since I was 16 which allowed me to find my passion for kiddos. I was a nanny all throughout college. I graduated from Boise State in May of 2020 and became a full-time middle school teacher for the Boise School district in August 2020. I have experience working with children ages 1-18. I love having fun with my kids, I like to take kiddos on outdoor adventures (swimming, walks, parks) I like to teach them to cook/bake, movie days, board games and I can even do some teaching if asked. :) I am a certified teacher so I have been background checked and have my fingerprints done. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked for TRIO Upward Bound summer program for two summers. I lived at Boise State's campus with high school students as a residential mentor.

I'm currently a teacher for the Boise school district. I teach 9th grade. I coach 7th & 8th-grade volleyball as well, so I have a variety of student age groups I have worked with.
Before teaching, I spent 1 year as a certified substitute for 8-12 grade.

I worked at Garfield Elementary's after-school program back in 2017 working with students ages 7-12. I coached their soccer team, helped the cooking class, and helped students with their homework assignments.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Sports such as soccer, basketball, tennis, swimming.

I enjoy hiking, walks, or even short runs if children would like.

Indoor activities include coloring, cooking, baking, reading, movies, puzzles, and gaming devices (If prohibited).

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being honest with your kiddos. Kids have the best BS detector and if you can't be honest with them they don't buy in with you.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked minimally with children with special needs. As a teacher, I have helped out in resource rooms from time to time.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I love when I am able to teach my children something new and the smile on their face when they can get it on their own. My favorite memory of this was teaching a volleyball girl how to serve and watching her get so excited when she got her serve over the net.
