I have worked as an infant/toddler teacher and preschool/kindergarten teacher in both the U.S. and Japan. I spent 5 years as a lead kindergarten/preschool teacher in Japan and have also worked as a Japanese tutor. My Early Childhood Education background helps me understand each child’s developmental stage and individual needs.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love keeping children active, curious, and engaged through arts and crafts, sensory play, reading, music, dancing, cooking, gardening, swimming, and outdoor play. I also enjoy trips to parks, libraries, museums, zoos, and aquariums. I love following each child’s interests and making learning fun through everyday experiences.

The most important thing is creating a relationship where children feel safe, loved, understood, and comfortable being themselves. I want parents to feel they can trust me with the most important people in their lives. I believe a great nanny works together with parents while helping children grow into happy, confident, curious, and independent individuals.
My experience with special needs children...
I have experience caring for a 2-year-old child with Autism as a nanny, as well as supporting children with Autism and ADHD in my preschool/kindergarten classroom. I understand that every child is unique, so I focus on learning their individual needs, communication style, interests, and routines while providing patient, supportive, and loving care.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moments are the simple ones—when a child runs to give me a big hug and says, “I love you, Yuka!” It always makes my day. It also means so much when parents thank me and tell me they feel happy and comfortable having me care for their children. Those moments remind me why I love being a nanny.
