Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have been a Children's Librarian Assistant, where I looked after children of all ages from 8am-5pm. I have also been a Camp Counselor at sleep away camps and day camps for the past 5 years.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy taking children to local (or specific) parks, the pool, movies, and out for treats (out to eat dinner, ice creams, milkshakes etc.). I also like to have little dance parties and do all things arts and crafts.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Is caring, loving, and nurturing the children as if they were my own family. Making sure that they know they'll have a safe space with me, means everything.
My experience with special needs children...
I have cared for children on the autism spectrum, with ADD/ADHD, and behavioral/temperamental needs. I use techniques enforced in the home to assist them, when needed I use past experiences to help bring the child back to center.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite Nanny moment has got to be when I met the first child I nannied and she insisted I would be her new best friend. Although I no longer live in the same state as her family, I consistent contact with them. She graduated middle school last year (which I had the blessed opportunity to fly out to see her achieve) and started high school this fall.
