A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Somnebi! (pronounced sohm-neb-ee). I also go by Zoë, (pronounced zoh-ee). I am 18 years old, and just recently graduated from highschool. I know how to play several sports, I love music, love to cook, and I enjoy cartoon movies. And of course i love to be around and take care of kids! This year, I want to be a part time or full time nanny! since Covid 19 hit i havent been able to hang with kids as much, and i miss it! kids make me happy. they make me active again, they make me feel joy! I respect them, and they always understand how to respect me too. I love the joy we bring to each other. I hope to be able to create a bond with some new kids and be a nanny again!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have did FMSC (feed my starving children) and I helped bag food to give to children while we even had some working with us too! it was an amazing and emotional experience.

At my church in minneapolis, I also used to run the preschool and nursery after our other teachers retired. I took over as a student teacher then I began to lead the way for the next preschool teacher there as I was taking my leave from the church.

I now work as a preschool teacher in a different building :). I have been a paid preschool teacher total of one year, and a volunteered preschool teacher total of two years.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Playing board games, playing outdoors, cooking and baking, watching cartoon movies, reading to them, and so much more!

The most important part about being a nanny...

the most important part of being a nanny to me is, making sure the children are always okay and in your sight. I love nannying but the children come first! Taking care of the children and making sure they’re okay is the most important. But after youve done that dont forget to have fun with them! kids are very sweet and require alot of attention still.

My experience with special needs children...

I have had multiple experiences with special need children, I understand sometimes it is difficult. I had a classmate who was special needs but was very energetic at the same time. he had his own certain student teacher to help him with things, but once in a while if i finished my school work early i would help out, or I would help him before I help myself. Sometimes he would get anxious or upset easily. So i would sing his favorite song with him, or eat snack with him, and/or try to support him with what i can. If theres any situation like that I can try to and will always help. I also have a cousin who is special needs. Since he was born he struggled with vocalizing/communication, so my aunt put him in ASL. Because my aunt wasnt really catching onto ASL easily- he was also taught quick actions to show his emergencies like when hes hungry, or has to use the bathroom, or doesnt feel well. Being around him teaches me something new each time. It gives me a life learning lesson.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite Nanny moment was when I was babysitting a family friends daughter, and she fell asleep right on my stomach, her daughter was so calm, it was so adorable to see how comfortable she was too!
