A little bit about me

Hi! I'm Zoie, a hands-on, heart-forward nanny with about 4 years of childcare experience. I've worked with children from 12 months to 12 years old in a variety of professional settings, including daycares, preschools, after-school programs, and private in-home care.

I'm CPR and First Aid certified, and I've completed extensive childcare training through past employers. I have experience supporting children with autism, learning differences like dyslexia, behavioral challenges, and developmental delays, including those born prematurely.

I'm 23, and while I do have a valid driver's license, I don't currently drive due to epilepsy, which is fully managed with medication. If you have any questions or concerns, I'm always happy to answer them openly and honestly.

In my free time, I love to read, bake, and spend time with my wife and our cats. I'm the kind of nanny who gets down on the floor and plays, not one who stays on the couch, although I do take lots of cute pictures for parents!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing arts and crafts with kids! My favorites are process art projects, where the process is more important than the product, and invitiation to create activities, where they get the pieces, the goal, and can go wild making whatever their creative heart wants! I also love going to the park with kids, I'm pretty short so I'll squeeze up there with them and play too! I also love reading picnics, they work with any age! With littler kids I'll take some books to read to them during the picnic, and with older kids, they'll bring books of their own to read while we enjoy some fresh air! I'm also getting into sensory bins lately, they're super quick and all age appropriate as long as the ingredients are taste safe!

To me, what matters the most in any childcare position is the connection with the kids. Kids learn best, grow best, and thrive best with people they trust.

My nanny kiddo finally climbed up the bridge he'd been trying to climb for weeks, and I cheered so loud people started staring! My favorite part of working with kids is watching them grow, so that really stuck in my heart as a special moment.
