A little bit about me

I am a blessed mom of 12. kiddos. I volunteer with church nursery, have experience as a nanny, a B,S. In Human Services/Social Work, and prior employment as a PCT for Nemours Children's Hospital. I volunteer as a Guardian ad Litem and have trauma informed care training. I am comfortable with all ages and stages.

Prior to pregnancy (with my twins) I cleaned homes, ran errands and handled all aspects of preparing Airbnb's.. Additionally, as a homeschooling mother I will support your children in their education offering enrichment, skills building and guidance in their pursuit of knowledge. I enjoy cooking and have catered affairs, am willing to do laundry and general housekeeping while the children are napping or are elsewhere.
As a volunteer Victim's Advocate with the Florida State Attorneys Office I was required to pass a Level III national background check. Families find me trustworthy, self-motivated, committed to the tasks at hand, well seasoned, loving kids as my own.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have cared for many children throughout the years in volunteer and paid settings. Friends and family have entrusted their priceless treasures to me for hours to several weeks. As a PCT at Nemours I cared for children in challenging settings, trying to make their time at the hospital bit brighter. 20 years ago I cared and fed babies during overnights in the Newborn Nursery. I learned to wrap a serious swaddle and care for up to 15 newborns at a time.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Reading.... singing (I sing ALL the time), spontaneous bursts of dancing, shadow puppets, I Spy, reading some more, teaching children how to cook, stich, to can, make crafts, visit interesting venues, study cultures and pursue activities to broaden our horizons... read even more, put on plays from the stories they authored, or make sock puppets (I have a lot of kids, hence, a billion single socks and my sense of frugality needs to find a use for them). I have not had television in my home for nearly 20 years, as such, we have come up with many past-times. Playing cards, playing board games, hopscotch, jump rope, chess, homemade play dough/salt dough, read yet again, talking ideas and concepts and chatting over a tea party, making blanket forts, freeze dance... the possibilities are endless!!!! But wait, did I forget to mention reading??? ;)

The most important part about being a nanny...

giving parents peace of mind that their child/ children will be loved and well cared for. I have an opportunity to play a part in helping a little person grow into the young person their are called to be. I would be hard pressed to find a more fulfilling "occupation" .

My experience with special needs children...

I have a limited vocabulary in ASL, but am willing to learn more. Although my Certified Nursing Assistant license has expired, I did provide hands on care for children of all ages. In the clinical setting the needs and abilities of children varied, but I am familiar with feeding and nasal gastric tube feedings, emptying catheters, I/O's, pediatric First Aid and CPR, trained how to administer Epi Pens and the signs and symptoms of when to utilize them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Anytime a sweet kiddo lights up with some joy or joke they want to share, or when I receive the warmest welcome with jumping up and down at the door, the tackle down hugs.......... priceless, every single one!!!! Watching them grow into these amazing human beings is a gift. How do you pick one favorite moment when you have been blessed to witness innumerable bits of pure happiness? Hearing belly laughs or watching a child overcome a challenge find their courage, seeing their pride well up (and rightfully so)....... how can you pick a favorite moment, they are all my favorite moments and then some!!!!
