The most important part about being a nanny...
Being the person parents can undoubtedly trust to care for their children. I understand how difficult it can be to leave your children under the care of someone else and it's a huge responsibility on both parents and caregivers hands. I hope to be a trusted, positive and fun figure in the kids' lives- and to provide relief for parents knowing their children are being well taken care of. While I understand worrying about your child’s well-being probably never fully ceases, I hope to provide some relief for parents that allows them to focus attention elsewhere and hopefully get the chance to take some time for themselves.
My experience with special needs children...
I spent 2 years volunteering at a therapeutic horse riding facility working with both children and adults dealing with various neurological, behavioral and physical disabilities. In my best non technical description, hippo therapy- specifically the natural movement of a horse’s gait, stimulates certain parts of the brain, improving neurological function, self awareness, and uniquely targets mind/body connection. It’s a truly awing experience and something I loved being a part of.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my most memorable moments was I have is from the first time one of the kids I was nannying for came to me for advice for a personal problem she was having in her life. It was an endearing breakthrough from simply being the nanny to becoming a trusted friend. It was a reminder that nannying is so much more than just a job, and there’s so much importance to creating a comfortable and trusting environment for both the kids and the nanny.
