A little bit about us
I am a work at home mom who lives in West Sacramento. I am looking for a reliable, friendly, part time nanny who can be like an auntie figure to my sweet happy baby boy who is 18 months old and our newborn. The schedule I need help with is 27 hours per week, Monday-Wednesday 7:00am to 4:00pm.
Our 18-month-old is sleep trained and takes 2 naps during the day. Our newborn currently sleeps all the time and will be mostly in my care until he becomes more active.
Our ideal match will meet the requirements below. Some light tidying up would be part of our caregiver's responsibilities. We'll need some laundry help now and again.
Animal lovers please apply (we have pets)!
-Dog walking
-Light laundry
-Light housework (Swiffer mopping/vacuuming)
-Tidy up children’s rooms and play areas
-Lots of playing with baby!

Responsibilities include care for our 4.5 month son and tracking his naps and feeding on an ap. The baby is breast fed but does take a bottle. He does not eat solids yet.
Light housework in terms of washing bottle parts, putting the parts in a sanitizer, wiping down counter after. Also, walking diapers to trashcan outside when diaper pail becomes full.
We do have a dog but his care is not included in nanny responsibilities.
Ideally looking for a part-time provider to begin work in mid-January 2021 for four days a week, during the week. Still TBD on exact hours, but it's looking like our preferred hours will be from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

A little bit about us
We expect that the nanny would engage with the child throughout the day, but also set time aside for our kid to have self-play as appropriate for her stage of development. We also do not allow our baby to use screens so it’s important that the nanny find non-screen activities and entertainment for the baby/kid.
While our baby sleeps, we would expect the nanny to help clean-up after the baby including washing bottles, baby’s laundry, and putting away toys, etc.
We really want someone who loves babies and will treat ours like their own, and be part of the family!

How to Find an Infant Care Job in West Sacramento, CA
If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.
What is an Infant Nanny in West Sacramento, CA
An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.
Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position
Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:
- What is your specific experience with this age group?
- Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in West Sacramento, CA? Are you willing to be trained?
- How do you handle a crying baby?
- How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
- What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
- How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
- What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?
You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
