Nanny Job Summary:
Our families are offering a “nanny share” opportunity Hudson, NY. We are seeking an experienced, organized, and caring nanny to provide in-home childcare for two toddler children (ages 2 and 2.5) for half-day (70% of the time) and occasionally full-day care during school breaks (30% of the time). The position is one year in length (approx. September 2021 to September 2022). The home is set up according to basic Montessori standards.

Nanny Duties and Responsibilities:
• Tend to the general needs of the children while providing supervision to ensure the children’s safety in day-to-day activities
• Engage children in age-appropriate activities to encourage the children’s intellectual development, motor skills, etc.
• Model appropriate social behaviors to encourage children’s social and emotional development
• Monitor the children’s behavior for irregularities pertaining to their health and well-being as well as their physical, emotional, and mental development
• Instruct the children in proper health and personal care habits, such as diet and toilet behavior
• Begin teaching children to take care of their environment
• Create a safe environment for the children by removing hazards and enforcing appropriate boundaries
• Perform light housekeeping tasks related to the children’s care
• Spend time with the children outdoors, in back yard.

Nanny Requirements and Qualifications:
• Non-smoker
• Prior experience in childcare settings (daycare center, Montessori school, nursery, nanny)
• Certification in infant and child first aid and CPR (families are willing to pay for training if needed)
• Familiarity with Montessori parenting/work history and/or understanding of child psychology and stages of development is ideal, but not required.
• Spanish-speaking ideal, but not required.
