I started baby sitting when I was 15 years old. I would watch my dads best friends kids on the weekends. One of them was 6 and the other was 8. I did that for a year or so then I started baby sitting over night for my brothers kids on the week day nights until I was about 19 then I got a job at a day care center and I was a teacher for the infant class and then I was a teacher for the toddlers that range from 2-4 years old.

Most recently I was working for a family with 2 young boys for 3 years, which included 2 young dogs, geckos, cats & bearded dragons and chickens. While working for them my schedule was very flexible and my hours ranged from part to full. I also worked as a date night nanny for another family with 1 young son. As well as these 2 families I had begun working as on an as-needed basis for their infant daughter & 2 school-aged boys. I have excellent references, and strong work ethic. I find joy working with children, their fresh faced look at life is so inspiring. I have worked in classrooms K-6th grade as an Instructional assistant. I have 72 college credits & took child development courses and more. My philosophy is that children are people who deserve respect. I attempt gentle redirection, then explain why we don't behave in this way, then, after warning, a time out. I remind them that it was their behavior that was the problem, not them. I can follow your family's philosophy, but this gives you an idea of where my heart is for children. Infants, are exempt! They get hugs and snuggles, etc. I have extensive experience & have worked with a variety of special needs children. I would love to meet and further discuss your needs.

Hello! I am looking for a new family starting the end of June! I would prefer a long term position.
I have my own vehicle with up to date tags, insurance, and license. I've been trained in CPR and first aid. I love animals so I'm completely okay with pets. I don't mind doing light housekeeping or running errands here and there. Pretty much anything your family needs, we can manage to work out!
I've been working with younger children for two years now! I have been a nanny for two families so far and a sitter for many. I started while I was in school for phlebotomy and I ended up enjoying childcare more!
My first family was for two teenagers. I mostly helped them with homework and keeping them on task throughout the day. One of them had a few emotional delays so they needed extra help getting her to and from appointments. She also went to school online while her brother was in high school so I helped her before we went to pick him up and do our after school clubs.
My most recent family is a three child family, 6, 4, & 3. One of the children is on the autism spectrum, he's verbal but his mind doesn't stay here. We're currently learning how to swim and read so I'm very sad to see them go. ):
I don't sit at home with the TV all day. We go out to the park, a pool, a picnic trip. I've done beach trips, the zoo, arts festivals. I love doing arts and crafts and swimming.
We don't just eat junk!! As much as I love sweets and pizza, it's meant in moderation. I understand how picky some children can be but we at least try our fruit and veggies! I hate bringing tears or tantrums to mealtime over frozen nuggets but healthy habits start early.
I am pretty strict, in my opinion. The rules you set for your children are meant to be followed! If they go too far, they're put into a timeout. When they're ready to apologize, we sit and talk about why they acted out to help them learn and understand their emotions.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to ask. (:

What are some common responsibilities for nannies in Foley, MN?

As a parent, it’s natural for you to ask your nanny for a little extra help around the house. However, the boundaries for a nannies duties vary from person to person. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met. This includes things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active, that they have a healthy diet and a sanitary home. Take your nanny out one of Foley’s great restaurants, learn about their childhood, and discuss your parenting philosophy. Finally, be sure to resolve conflicts as they arise. Open communication is crucial to ensuring a healthy long-term relationship.
