I have worked as a nanny and babysitter for four years with children ranging from ages 4 to 13. During the summers, I have worked as a personal assistant and nanny, driving children to their various commitments and supervising them throughout the day, as well as helping out around the house. I am accustomed to preparing meals, running errands, doing laundry, cleaning, and organizing the house. I have also worked as a babysitter for various parents who need a week night to themselves. I am used to assisting children with homework and constructively working on tasks they need to complete while their parents are out on a date. I am creative, artistic, and imaginative, and I use these traits to entertain children and keep them inspired and involved.

We have three boys, ages 13, 10, and 5. The two older boys are pretty self sufficient, so the care is mostly for our 5 year old. We currently need school pick-up for our 5 year old, and after-school care to around 7pm. We would love to get into a share situation with our 5 year old, either at our house or the other family's place.

We are very easy going, but do like to limit screen time and have plenty of outdoor time for our 5 year old.

What are some common responsibilities for nannies in Berkeley, IL?

As a parent, it’s natural for you to ask your nanny for a little extra help around the house. However, the boundaries for a nannies duties vary from person to person. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met. This includes things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active, that they have a healthy diet and a sanitary home. To start, it’s important you set expectations and are aligned on compensation from day one. Take your nanny out one of Berkeley’s great restaurants, learn about their childhood, and discuss your parenting philosophy. Finally, be sure to resolve conflicts as they arise. Open communication is crucial to ensuring a healthy long-term relationship.
