I began baby sitting at the age of fourteen. I started off watching a five, and a seven year old brother and sister. Keegan, and Hanna were a blast to baby sit. Their parents would usually go on an evening outing and I would stay through the children's bedtime. Our nights began with a game of hide and go seek many times. Keegan would bring out some of his favorite toys while Hanna would do the same. They were easily pleased and I had fun making them laugh. Eventually it would be time for dinner and movie with popcorn once everyone's food was gone. Bed time was also fortunately a breeze with them. I'd tuck them in separately with a story or a song whichever they preferred, and sometimes both. Taking care of children has always been second nature to me because of the way I was raised. Being the youngest of four, I was the only child who spent a great deal of time alone with my mom while the rest of my brothers and sisters were away at school. This experience makes child care second nature when I think of the love and attentiveness my mom displayed for me my whole life. I later became a "manny" over the summer, for a couple with three boys. Derek age nine, Daniel age four, and David nearly two, kept me very busy. But I have a lot of confidence as a result. The summer days were spent having breakfast in the morning, and playing various games that appeased each of their playing levels. David was naturally my biggest concern and he was not left out of my sight. I had to keep a close eye on Daniel when David was on the floor with him because Daniel had a tendency to act out against David. This resulted in time outs for Daniel after he persisted in his potentially harmful aggression. After lunch Daniel and David would take naps, and that gave Derek and I time to play more athletic games outside which we both enjoyed. When the little guys woke up usually about two hours later we would have a snack and watch a movie or play with blocks. Anytime the boys wanted to be read to it was a pleasure. It was always nice to have a breath for a calm activity with that bunch. The mom and dad would come home from work sometimes while Daniel and David were still napping. In 2011, my sister had the first baby of the family, Benjamin John. I was staying with my sister and brother in law for the year working and saving money for a car to move out to CA. That year was a very happy year. I loved taking care of my nephew! I officially know a lot about babies and am fully equip to take care of them. Ben was an especially ACTIVE baby. Ranking in the 99% of babies, it was as if he knew it. I baby sat often and I lived with them so there was really know division from the two. From diaper changing, to bottle feeding, to making formula, or just making the milk room temp, to rocking/holding. I am certified:)

I have been a full-time nanny to five families over the past 2.5 years - in Lexington, KY, Los Angeles, and Buckingham, PA. I am currently in the process of moving back to LA. I will be available for full-time work in April. I am the oldest of eight children and I have been the go-to babysitter at my house for most of my life. Family and household management is an innate part of my personality! I have babysat outside of family since the age of 15. I worked at a daycare during college. I spent time in China working with children at a foster home as the preschool teacher's aide. I spent 10 months with a sibling pair: a 2-month-old preemie and his 3-year-old sister. I was with them while he hit all of his first-year milestones. I enjoyed learning through them how to have well-balanced days with shared attention. I spent 3 months as a live-in nanny with a family with 5 children, ages 8 through 10. I watched after the kids, helped with homework and bedtime, and aided in managing the family's busy lifestyle. I worked for two families as a nanny-share for 8 months. I watched each of their 2.5-year-olds together, full-time. I am finishing 5 months working for a family with 5 children - aged 18 months, and 3, 6, 9, and 13 years old. I watch after the younger kids, aide in keeping the house organized and clean, and occasionally help with home school. I work on and off for a family with an 8-month-old and a 3-year-old, with many overnight stays. I can provide contact information for each family I have worked for if you would like to speak with them. My resume has much more detailed information, please feel free to ask me to send it to you.

I'm 29 years old and I have babysat for several different families since I was 12. I have also had two short-time nanny positions with two great families. In the past, with other kids I’ve nannied, I've tried to take the kids out once a day for various activities. Outdoor activities I’ve done with kids in the past are trips to the park, the pool, the library, the mall playground, nature walks, museums, craft stores, etc. When we’re indoors, I like to do arts & crafts, music & dancing time, free play time with toys, reading, snack time, play dates with other kids her age, etc. I really like to keep things fresh, new and engaging so that the kids I'm watching are constantly learning, getting their energy out, and staying entertained. I love kids and working with kids! I enjoy doing learning based activities with kids and watching them learn and grow. I majored in Elementary Education at BYU for a year, so I love teaching children and have a lot of creative and fun ideas for teaching. We can work on letters/reading, numbers/basic math, colors, shapes, art, nature, animals, music, etc. Aside from child care, I can also do light cleaning, run errands, and do grocery shopping.

Throughout junior high and high school I babysat for multiple families in my neighborhood, caring for two to three children at a time. I was also a member of for four years during high school, at which time I mentored and tutored children with learning, behavioral, physical and emotional disabilities. Through I became close friends with the head of the organization who was a teacher and the adjoining elementary school and was a foster mother to two young boys (also with emotional and behavioral disorders) who I cared for on multiple occasions throughout my four years with the organization.

I have about 6 years of paid nanny experience and the majority of my experience has been with babies and toddlers. I adore kids and think they are so fun to be around. I am a very patient, loving, happy, energetic, fun babysitter. I try to make every kid I watch feel safe and happy with me. I think it is important for kids to being having fun but always learning. I love being outside, doing crafts, and I will pretty much go along with any crazy fun game kids come up with.

What are some common responsibilities for nannies in Burbank, OH?

As a parent, it’s natural for you to ask your nanny for a little extra help around the house. However, the boundaries for a nannies duties vary from person to person. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met. This includes things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active, that they have a healthy diet and a sanitary home.
