Erin R. - Seeking Work in Glendale

My first experiences working with children was as a babysitter for family friends and neighbors when I was around 12 years old. As I began high school I started working as a full-time nanny for a family in the summers and part-time throughout the kids' school year. In college I worked in a church daycare center near my home where I worked with predominantly Korean and Chinese children ranging from infants to 12 years old. I was a nanny full-time for a family in Minneapolis for a year and we remain close to this day. Although school has kept me very busy I would love the opportunity to continue working with families and caring for their children!

I am a passionate and caring person who enjoys working with youth and children. Over the years from highschool until now I have always had a niche for helping and child development. I've babysat my younger brothers, my cousin with disabilities, 10-year old Naomi while in college and worked as a personal care attendant for a student with disabilities my senior year in college. Now,I occasionally babysit for friends when necessary and I enjoy every moment. I am interested to find a summer nanny position that I can be a positive and person in a child's life this summer.

I started being a nanny back in 2008, with a wonderful family that had a 2 year old little boy. I was with him til he was 4 and half, the reason for me leaving was because the dad convinced me to become an au pair. So for 2011 I was an au pair for a family in New Zealand. When I arrived the girls were 3 years old , 2 years old, and 24 days old. 2 weeks into my stay a 6.3 earthquake hit. My time there was spent helping the family through life after the quake, dad traveling due to the quake and then finally the family moving. Upon returning home I started working for a family that had a 2 year old and 15 month old, the mother was 5 months pregnant with twins. When the twins were 3 the parents decided to put them in an all day preschool that was more of a school structure, since they had only ever known life with a nanny. I then moved to California after my time with them ended. I did babysitting here and there when I moved out here because nannying can be a very lonely career choice, so I got a couple part time jobs. I then found a nanny family in Hollywood. The little boy was 3 months old and right after he turned 1, the mom sadly lost her job so they couldn’t afford to have a nanny anymore. Which leads me to here! Looking for another amazing family to work for and with!
