My experience in childcare dates back to my college years where I took care of an infant and toddler during the day and went to school at night. I stayed with that family until the oldest reached pre-school age. Even after I stopped watching them on a daily basis, I still provided care for them on date nights and when the parents took extended week-end trips through out the year. Since that time I have watched numerous other families' children in both long-term and short term nanny positions. These children's ages ranging from less than two months old, through kindergarten age. I've provided care for children with medical needs such as food allergies, and asthma ( that required administering medication through out the day via a nebulizer.) While in my care I kept detailed daily logs of each child's feedings, naps, diaper changes, meds administered. Along with that information, I also shared anecdotal notes of the day's activities, including memorable moments worthy of mention, such as any milestone achievements. All this to provide the parents with a detailed overview of their little one's day. When age appropriate, I also introduced the children to counting and learning their ABC's through song and dance and other fun activities. I read daily to every child in my care, no matter their age-it's never too early to expose a child to the joys of reading. When weather permitted, and proximity allowed, I would take the children on walks to the park, for some playtime fun and exercise, or we'd schedule play dates with neighborhood children. Every day was different, but the goal was the same-to provide a safe, happy and nurturing environment for the child to thrive in.

I'm 21 years old. I currently live in Newark , CA. I am currently working as a nanny and have been since June 2014 and this position is ending in the middle of February 2015. I am CPR certified and I used to work at a Developmental Center as a Developmentalist. I cared for mentally and physically disabled women who needed assistance with the day to day tasks of life, and with their own personal goals. (for example: Getting dressed, bathing, changing, learning, playing games, & problem solving.) Being a care-taker is not too different from caring for children. I have extensive child care experience. I have continuously cared for my 1-year-old cousin since she was a new born along side of caring for my younger brother who is now 5, baby sitting for my aunts kids throughout my life, and baby sitting for my friends two boys on occasion. I'm patient, artsy, compassionate, fun, outdoorsy, & great with kids! I would love to be considered. Thank you

Hi, I'm Samantha! I'm originally from New York, and recently moved with my fiancee for new career opportunities. I have my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theater from Pace University in New York City. During college, I worked in various summer camps throughout New York state as a counselor. Since graduating, I've worked closely with children, organizing and instructing performing arts courses such as "Mommy and Me, Move and Groove," as well as classic dance classes (e. g. ballet, hip hop, musical theater, tap). I'm also a certified Zumba fitness instructor! I have over a decade of experience working as a caregiver for large families. I began individual family childcare when I was 14. My passion includes all activities involving the arts and physical fitness, from singing and dancing to bike riding and basketball. I hope this message gives you a better understanding of who I am. Thank you. :)
