I have 4 years worth of teaching experience in Council Bluffs, Iowa as an Elementary Art Teacher. I also worked for 2 1/2 years as a teacher aide in an elementary Resource program, helping co-teach students with learning disabilities while living in San Leandro, CA. I'm currently in my 2nd year of teaching xx for xx in Las Vegas, NV. My students ranged in age from 5-12 years old. I continue to search for nanny positions in the Bay Area to move back closer to my husband's family. In addition to teaching, I was an age-group swim coach for 8 years, working with children from ages 5-18 years old while living in Omaha, Nebraska and in San Jose, CA. I also have about 10 years experience of teaching swim lessons with young children and was a babysitter when I was in high school.

I've been away from nannying for a few years, but eager to get back into it if the right fit came along. I am in school and would like to work around my school schedule before summer starts in late May, but won't be attending summer classes. If long-term preferred, I will work my fall class schedule around your family! I love to cook, and in the past have helped clean, potty train, tutor. I love all animals and am no stranger to dirty, messy jobs. I speak quite a bit of spanish and some french. Lots of experience with 3mo and up, extra patient and creative with high-energy kids. I've worked with large families as well (somewhat my specialty, especially multiples), with 3-5 active kids.

We have an opening in our nanny share starting in July. Our current nanny cares for our son (14 months) and a baby girl (15 months) full time. The other family no longer needs care once this school year completes. Our nanny is a warm, caring, and loving person who adores both children. They both love her and have huge smiles on their faces when Cassie walks in. Cassie has over 16 years of experience. She makes sure to take the kids to the playground everyday and does lots of activities (reading, games, singing) with them at home. She has a BA in Art Education and a masters in Fine Arts, as well as having her teaching certificate for K-12. In her free time she does freelance work writing and illustrating children’s books. Ideally, we are looking for someone who needs 40 hours per week. Currently, we have Cassie from 8-4 M-F but can be flexible on the start and end times. We are also open to hosting. In our current situation, we have a 2-week alternating hosting schedule which has worked well. Lastly, we live in San Leandro and work in Oakland so looking for a family in these areas.

As a parent, it’s natural for you to ask your nanny for a little extra help around the house. However, the boundaries for a nannies duties vary from person to person.
