I have over 15 years of experience working with infants, toddlers, and children of all ages. I am First Aid and CPR certified and have a safe and reliable Volkswagen Jetta which I just purchased in October of 2010. I have attached a 1 page resume for you to review. However, my passion for working with children has allowed for me to obtain many years of experience working with children as a nanny as well as in a variety of other settings. Due to this, I have an extensive amount of experience and I am happy to provide you as much detail and knowledge if you desire. I graduated with a B.A. in Special Education and Theater Arts from University of Miami in 2004 and spent a number of years working as a Special Education Teacher for a variety of ages. I am also a certified reading coach and ran a tutoring program as well while teaching. My passion for social and emotional development became a huge significance in regards to a new job I received during a transition period. My role as a recreational therapist with middle school students encouraged my decision to continue with my studies by attending Naropa University in order to receive a graduate degree in Counseling Psychology. I currently graduated this past May which is very exciting!! Over the past year, I have completed my internship where I have worked as a play and art therapist with children, adults and families. I am a self-starter with great passion for supporting the development of children and adolescents. I enjoy a variety of activities for I am very dedicated towards obtaining as much knowledge and experience pertaining to the development of infants and children. I highly enjoy theater and the arts and spend a majority of my free time engaged in such activities. I am an avid reader and have a great passion for books and stories. I have been playing the piano for over 20 years and volunteer for 2 non-profit organizations that support art and music education. I also enjoy spending time outdoors biking, hiking, and rock-climbing.

I am looking for a Nanny position that I can do part-time. I have raised 4 of my own children & love kids! I am a Classically Trained Chef w/a focus on Alternative Diets, Special Dietary Needs and Food Allergens. I am very much an advocate of all Natural, Organic, Local & Sustainable. I would love the opportunity to discuss your needs and see if I may be of service to you. I have shopped at most of the “Healthy Grocery Stores & Markets in the Boulder area. And, I have done Cooking Demo’s/Shopping in both The Boulder/Longmont Farmer’s Market. Boulder is known to be a Foodie City; but, the Local Farmer’s/Entrepreneur’s give it that small town personable feel! I love shopping in these places & supporting our own!
I am a Chef by trade, a communicator at heart, empathic by nature, and nurturing from the soul. I believe that part of one’s success lies beneath their “concept or understanding.” I enjoy seeing people happy. But, more so; I enjoy seeing them flourish & prosper at life!
I am inspired by several of my Culinary Instructors @ Escoffier School of Culinary Arts. One of the Chef’s, had a vision of me cooking; in large numbers and quantities! I remember thinking no way! But, funny enough; it’s a lot of what I do!
I recently held a position as Executive/Head Chef in the Boulder Valley School District; for an Alternative High School, in the area. I am originally from Texas, but moved to Boulder, Co., to attend Culinary School. During this time; I worked w/Escoffier School of Culinary Arts as a High School Presenter/Instructor; and decided to make Boulder, my home. I have had several jobs as a Chef & all have been with an educational piece.

Being a Chef for 100 teenagers can be daunting at times; but, rewarding as well. Responsible for all aspects of the kitchen: budget/cost, shopping, meal/menu planning, re-stocking, food/meal preparation, and teaching all Culinary Curriculum. During my time with the school system, I developed & grew the culinary program: implementing “the garden to lunch” program w/our own vegetables each season. Responsible for all recipes, and the history from each cuisine from around the world.

I believe in setting goals throughout life; and achieving, as many as possible! As a professional in your field, one should know when to ask for help & know when it takes a team to complete the assignment. It is about meeting the needs of the people, in a timely fashion & doing your best!
I adapt well under pressure/stress & I am a detailed studious person. I like to follow up & stay on top of my projects. I get to know my co-workers & clients. I am always available for questions/needs and/or available to pitch-in when/where needed.
Also, I have been in the healthcare realm; for the better part of 25 years. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree from University of Texas. I am fortunate to be able to combine both Science and Culinary into one passion; that of food. My experience is vast & I’m proud of the achievements, that I have gained in this ever-changing field.
I am loyal & dedicated to my job! I believe, you not only representative yourself with your actions; but, that of your employer as well. One should be professional & always mannerly. You may be, the first line of contact, that leaves the lasting impression. So, make it positive!
I very much enjoy teaching & helping students accomplish their goals! I am excited to meet w/you & discuss this position & future plans. I would like to thank you; for your time & consideration. I look forward to hearing from you soon! Have a wonderful rest of your day!
Sincerely,
Chef Dana Springer

I am the oldest of 3 siblings. I was a camp counselor for two summers for children ranging from 3 to 7 years old. I have spent the past 6 years babysitting various neighborhood children, including infants and adolescents. I love being around children and have many references. In the summer of 2010 I worked for the American Red Cross in Washington DC for their Preparedness Health and Safety department where I worked on the creation and implementation of child-friendly preparedness materials and presented those materials to various youth groups. I was also trained in CPR/AED and First Aid. Moreover, in the summer of 2009, I worked for my county prosecutor's office in the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes division, where I was assisted in the investigation and prosecution of cases involving crimes against children, but was solely responsible for the development of child-friendly information materials for youth victims. In short, my past childcare experience is both experiential and academic, and I believe that those experiences have enabled me to be an understanding, competent, and strong childcare provider.

I was a nanny/babysitter one summer for two boys, fours days a week from 7 am until 5 pm and sometimes evenings, in the state of Colorado in America. One boy was 11-years-old and the other was 7-years-old. Most of the time we would play at their home outside, stay inside and bake, go for walks or hikes, go to movies, or go swimming. The family had one dog. I made the boys breakfast and lunch. I also babysat a 7 year-old-boy almost every other weekend the year I was 17-years-old. Mostly I would make him dinner, then we would play with his toys, then I would get him ready for bed, read him a story, and then tuck him in. I would also look after my younger sister growing up who is two years younger than I am.
