I have nannied on and off for families for 4 years now. In the years 2009-2010 I nannied two families, (not during the same time frame). I lived with one family, the children were a girl (3 years) and a boy (1 1/2 years) I watched them in the moring until I had to go to school. My duties were feeding them and getting them ready for the day. The scond family I worked for was for a boy 9 years old) who I did after school care for. I would help him and make sure he finished his homework, feed him dinner, and made sure he would prepare himself for bed. I also did occassional babysitting for families throughout the years. I also worked for a daycare, unfortunately it closed too early, but I loved the little time I worked there. I would prepare their meals, breakfast, snack and lunch. Then I would help the teachers get the kids cleaned up and ready for nap time. I currently nanny for two families which didn't start too long ago. I do before school care for a boy (4 years) and a girl (6 years). I will arrive early and get the little girl ready for school, wake her up, take her a bath, get her dressed and feed her breakfast. Her brother has a disability so his nurse will get him ready and I will take him to school. The second family I work for has a little boy (5 years) and a little girl (6 years) who I do after school care for. I will pick them up, feed them a snack, help them with homework, and depending on the day feed them dinner, prepare their lunches, get them ready for bed and then lay them down for the night.

Hi! I am going in to my senior year at the University of Colorado - Boulder. I have several years of experience in babysitting children ages 8 mos - 12 years old. I come from a large family, of which I am the oldest child, so I have a lot of experience with kids of varying ages in general as well. I also worked in a child care facility for 2 years (KidStation in Erie, CO) for children ages 5 mos-6 years old. I love kids and would love to help out the right family in any way I can, whether than be part-time nanny care, occasional babysitting or even car-pool help.

I am First Aid/CPR/AED trained for both adults and infants through the Red Cross. I am nearly fluent in Spanish as well!

My availability is fairly flexible, reach out to me if you feel I could be a suitable fit for your family and we can discuss meeting/availability more in depth.

I was a nanny for a year and half for a family with 2 school aged children. I cooked them breakfast and made their lunches every day, as well as helping with homework and projects; took them to their various practices, made dinner on occasion. Helped with laundry and light housekeeping as well as helping the busy family stay organized!

What are some common responsibilities for nannies in Erie, CO?

As a parent, it’s natural for you to ask your nanny for a little extra help around the house. However, the boundaries for a nannies duties vary from person to person. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met. This includes things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active, that they have a healthy diet and a sanitary home. When tasks go beyond child care, for example scrubbing kitchen counters, folding laundry, gathering groceries, or teaching a language, you will likely need to provide additional compensation.

How can I ensure I have a great relationship with my nanny?

To start, it’s important you set expectations and are aligned on compensation from day one. This includes outlining vacation days, a protocol for sick days, and everything else you would want your own employer to cover. From here, spend time getting to know them. Take your nanny out one of Erie’s great restaurants, learn about their childhood, and discuss your parenting philosophy. Finally, be sure to resolve conflicts as they arise. Open communication is crucial to ensuring a healthy long-term relationship.
