I have nannied for 2 families. The most recent was for a family with 4 children. I was responsible for their 3 & 10-year-old girls several days a week over a 4 month period. My duties included picking them up from school, taking them to dance, gymnastics, and guitar lessons, preparing meals, bathing them, and putting them to bed. Prior to that I was a nanny for one child from 4 months old to 2 years old. I was responsible for his daily care while his parents were at work. In both cases the mothers decided to stay home with the kids full time and no longer need my full time services. I do still babysit for both families occasionally. I have a lot of experience working with multiple children at once. I have interned at a malnutrition center in Guatemala several times. There I worked with around 100 children ages birth to 13 years old all suffering from severe malnourishment. I spent time with each age group, but I was most often with the bed babies where there were 20-30 infants in one room with only 2 full time nannies and up to 4 volunteers at any given moment. Before I was a full time nanny I worked at a gym for 5 years where I often watched the children in the childcare center. I have been a babysitter for many children. Several families in my church have asked me to babysit and I have many younger cousins that I have watched often. I used to watch 2 of my cousins every day after school when they were younger. I also babysit my niece (3 years) and nephew (8 years) often. My nephew has cerebral palsy and I have also cared for other children with developmental and behavioral disorders including down syndrome. I have a lot of experience with children of all ages. I love taking care of kids. When I hold a baby and they look up and smile at me, it makes me feel so good! I have a lot of fun playing with kids and I just love babies!

During high school I went to a vocational school where my vocation was Early Childhood Education. From there I gained the experience needed to work with children of all ages. I became a nanny for a disabled young man with cerebral palsy and worked with him for four years. I then became a teacher again working with infants, toddlers and currently pre-kindergarteners.

I grew up in a family of seven, with four brothers. Being one of the oldest of 5, I've been babysitting since I can remember, which lead to me wanting to nanny. I first started babysitting for people at the age of 14 and loved it. I spent the past few summers being a nanny and working some babysitting jobs on the side. I've previously been a nanny for a 8 month old and his new born sister, as well as a family with 3 kids aged 5, 8, and 10. I love to engage them in playtime, reading, and fun outdoor activities. I am a very reliable, punctual and responsible nanny. Safety and the kids well being are very high on my priority list. I am a loving, nurturing nanny and i'm looking for the perfect family to share my nanny expertise with.

What are some common responsibilities for nannies in Bradenton, FL?

As a parent, it’s natural for you to ask your nanny for a little extra help around the house. However, the boundaries for a nannies duties vary from person to person. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met. This includes things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active, that they have a healthy diet and a sanitary home. When tasks go beyond child care, for example scrubbing kitchen counters, folding laundry, gathering groceries, or teaching a language, you will likely need to provide additional compensation.

To start, it’s important you set expectations and are aligned on compensation from day one. Take your nanny out one of Bradenton’s great restaurants, learn about their childhood, and discuss your parenting philosophy. Finally, be sure to resolve conflicts as they arise. Open communication is crucial to ensuring a healthy long-term relationship.
