I have been working with children for more than 6 years, and have more than 200 hours of experience working in a preschool setting. As well, I have been babysitting children throughout that time. I am Red Cross CPR/First Aid certified, as well as OSHA certified. I am a very creative and outgoing caregiver and strive to provide a stimulating and fun learning environment for children. I specialize in children aged 2.5-5.5 years, but have experience with and am open to working with children of all ages. I am very skilled at creating fun and educational lesson plans, and am very organized. I love working with children and continually strive to better myself as a caregiver.

For as long as I can remember I have adored children! I started babysitting neighborhood kids at the young age of 10 and have continued working with children in many different settings throughout my adulthood. I have worked with several families over an extended period of time (1-4 years) and have delighted in becoming a part of the family! I have worked with different age groups, ranging from newborns to teens. I volunteered abroad in Africa, teaching 3-6 year olds English and social skills. While living in Boulder, CO I worked at a residential treatment center with boys ages 8-14 who were struggling with behavioral disorders as well as removal from their homes for abuse and neglect. For several summers I co-founded a summer program for kids, giving parents a much needed break during the week. The camp encouraged big imagination and play, creative arts, and adventures! I also have several years of experience in being a "Mothers/Fathers helper" (or a personal/executive assistant). From running errands to cleaning and reorganizing playrooms and closets, anyway that I can help relieve some of the daily stress is my specialty! I am patient, responsible, loving and am not afraid to get a little dirty! :) Another passion of mine is teaching yoga. I find that practicing yoga with children is a wonderful way to connect with wandering minds and active bodies. In addition to teaching yoga, receiving my degree in Psychology and Social Work has only furthered my drive for human connection and working with children. I look forward to meeting your family and perhaps becoming a part of the team!

I am the oldest of four children so my experience learning to care for other children started at a young age. I had my first job as a babysitter at the age of 12 and continued to babysit for several families in my community while in middle/high school. While in college I worked for a nanny agency where I was blessed to work for 2 wonderful families for a number of years. One family I did several afternoons/evenings per week and I would work weekends for the other family when the parents would go out of town. After completing my first degree, I took a full time live in nanny position for a 12 year old girl. I lived with them for 1 year and was responsible for driving her to/from school and sporting events, meal prep, homework assistance and planning fun activities for us to do together. I left that job to go back to school to become a nurse. I have been a nurse for 3 years now in the acute care setting (2 years of Icu experience and 1 year of PACU experience). I have worked with patients of all ages ranging from neonates to elder adults. I am married and have two "fur babies" of my own, but no children at this time. My husband and I can't wait to start a family of our own but don't see that in our future for the next 3-4 years.

I have watched children for families of different temperaments and have been both a bad and good fit for the family. For those families that I was a bad fit for (of which there was two) one did not inform me until an hour before that they needed me to watch the child after I had stayed up late doing school work thinking I was not needed. We had made an arrangement they would contact me before 8pm if I was needed, they did not. The other did not appreciate me allowing their 4 yr old to chose her own outfit even though it matched, or allowing their teenager to go to school without her shin guards when it was find them or be late. Other than those families, I have gotten along amazing with all other families. The children would listen to me and do as they were told, always looked forward to seeing me and always had an even balance of love/dislike that any child has when told they can't do/have what it is they want. The parents are happy that their child/ren learn something and are active.
