I have cared for children in a couple of different environments. In high school, I would babysit for my parents, family friends, neighbors, and friends from church for extra cash. I also worked in my church's nursery. There, we would care for several different children during church services. All four years of high school, I participated in a summer program at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. For the first two years, I did the basics: going from room-to-room and playing with the children (patients), assisting their parents with anything they needed (coffee, blankets, a break from the hospital), and quite often I was able to take the mobile patients to a playroom and play games with them or take them outside on the playground. The last two years, however, I began thinking seriously about what I wanted to do as far as my career was concerned. I decided to try out volunteering in the NICU, and fell in love! There, I would basically sit with sick newborns and pre-mature babies to give their parents a break. I would sometimes get the priviledge to hold them, sing to them and rock them to sleep. It was one of the most fulfilling things I have ever done in my life. I decided to make this my lifetime goal - to work in the NICU at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Once I started college, I continued caring for children as a nanny. Right now I am hoping to find a wonderful family that I can assist! My husband and I live in Vinings and we are expecting out first child in late July.

My past childcare experience was wonderful.Open door policy, self starter,4 day/40hr. work week, where I did lots of multitasking. I was over seeing the basic care of a 1 yr. old. Prepared 3 meals a day, learn & play time, outside activities, laundry. Prepared baby scheduled music class. Reading,& nap time were a part of my daily duties. We played outside, took lots of walks. The children swam as well. My time spent with the baby in a work week was about 90% occasionally I would babysit at night/Fridays or spend the night. Kitchen kept clean & organized!! Laundry (5-6 loads) a week, with ironing in between. Folded, hung & put away. Picked up cleaners on a weekly basis or as needed. Kept closets organized. Grocery shopping/errands were executed weekly. Traveled along with mother when she needed an extra hand at the lake house: shopping etc. Trusted to watch the house and take care of baby while family vacationed to Hawaii. Helped to keep the house clean in between scheduled maids. I was trusted with an AMX credit card to make purchases for errands etc.

I am an energetic, responsible young adult with lots of childcare experience for my age. While at school, I work in a nursery with children 2 months to 3 years of age. Two summers ago, I worked with a family with three children (ages 4, 7, and 9) and loved it. This past summer, I was with a family of two, a boy and girl ages 4 and 6 respectively. I am still on excellent terms with both families and babysit for them occasionally when I am home for breaks. I have been certified in CPR and First Aid and was a lifeguard for 4 years. I am pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Biology (will finish in May) and love learning and helping others expand their knowledge. I enjoy spending time with children and have had many wonderful experiences in the past! I am a runner and I play soccer, so spending time on outdoor activities is one of my favorite things to do, but crafts follow closely behind. Lastly I am very patient and calm, so I enjoy working with children birth all the way through middle school!
