Hello!! Some information about me that you'll probably be wondering how a twenty year old has experience. I have grown up with a big family and their was always babysitting either a sibling or a family member or someone needing a babysitter at church. I have been babysitting since I was in the 12-13 age range some stuff when I was even younger than that. I nannied last summer for two families part time. Three little boys of the ages 7,7,9 on Mondays and Tuesdays. Then an 11 year old girl and a 6 year old boy on Thursdays and Fridays. Occasionally on Wednesdays depending on who needed me. During the fall semester last year I nannied a 3 month old baby and when the one of the other two came home I would watch them until their parents came home. The family was in the process of moving back to around family so unfortunately didn't get to for a whole year. Although I did help out with babysitting for them. I have had families I regularly babysit while growing up. I worked at a gymnastics gym and teaching swimming lessons at their private pool for 2 1/2 years. I love sports, music, theatre, crafts, playing outside until the sun goes down, reading, writing, playing with kids, anything water activity related such as; wakeboarding, kneeboarding, slaloming, skiing water and snow as well as surfing. I have different food allergies so if any food or health restrictions or concerns or medicine child needs to take I do well with making sure to be extra careful with any needs that need to be met for said child. Even if they are different and need extra help or anything I will accommodate to such but will also treat them like any other child and work around doing fun things they normally can't but finding a creative way they can. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me and ask! No weird or stupid questions when it comes to someone caring for your children.

I've spent the past seven years employed at a baptist church in Ames, where I've taken care of anywhere from one tiny baby to seven or eight infants/toddlers. I grew up in a family of 10 and often had to care for my two younger siblings, as well as doing a lot of cleaning and some cooking to help around the house. I've also done babysitting for other families since I was eleven or twelve.

I have been a summer nanny for 3+ years back in my home state of Wisconsin while on break from college. I am currently a senior in the Elementary Education program at Iowa State University. I love teaching and watching children grow as they learn. As a nanny, I can observe this and also help the children interact and learn from other experiences.

First, I want to introduce myself. My name is Sharon May. I am 31 years old. I am from the Philippines. I am now currently working as an Au Pair in Denmark. I will finish my contract in July 2018. My previous work experience was in the Middle East, Jordan. Where I took care of two children aged 3 years old and a newborn. My work also included cleaning, ironing, washing...the usual household chores. I also brought the kid to his activities, playdates and language lessons. My employer also brought me along when they travel in Egypt, and Abu Dhabi/Dubai. My second work experience was in Hong Kong from 2013 until August 2016. I took care of a 3 and a half year old cute boy. We sleep together in one bedroom and his parents were so happy that we get along together. I brought him to school everyday and to his activities (karate lesson, art, language and chinese lessons). I also cook and prepare his foods, clothing and school materials. I also taught him how to draw and color activities at home. Lastly, my work experience in Denmark. I am an au pair here and taking care of a 7 year old girl. Preparing light meals in the morning and bring her to school and back in the afternoon. I also babysit sometimes and we are usually doing creative work like drawing and art. I also do household chores like cleaning the house, washing, ironing etc.
I hope that you will be interested to employ me.
Best regards,
Sharon May

What are some common responsibilities for nannies in Ames, IA?

As a parent, it’s natural for you to ask your nanny for a little extra help around the house. However, the boundaries for a nannies duties vary from person to person. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met. This includes things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active, that they have a healthy diet and a sanitary home.
