I have been babysitting since I was 10 years old. I have a huge extended family and would always watch my cousins. As I got older I started babysitting for the neighborhood kids and then when I got to high school I volunteered in the daycare in our school as well as vacation bible school during the summers at our church. When I went to college I was highered to work at an on campus daycare with in the toddler room but I spent a couple semesters working in the infant room as well until I was promoted to the mid-shift supervisor in the 4 to 5 year old room. During that time I nannied for a family from our daycare in the mornings. I got the girls up and ready, fed them breakfast and took them to school. I also nannied for a couple other families during the summer. I took the two older girls to various activities (they were 9 and 11) as well as taking them and there 5 year old brother to the pool and park. After I graduated from the University of Kansas with my degree in speech language and hearing I was employed at an elementary school as a reading teacher for K-2nd grade. I moved back home to Barrington this past year and most recently have been working in a family daycare with infants and toddlers ranging from newborns to 24 months.

As a parent I believed in the three A's, Academics, Athletics and the Arts. I raised two grown daughters an Astrophysicist and an Engineer, one a Divsion 1 NCAA swimmer the other a saxophone player for the UCLA marching band. I was a nanny later in life for my daughter's band director's two year old twins a boy and a girl. We had fun going to the park, exploring nature while hiking, making art projects, going to the library, learning to read, and singing songs. I also was an after school science teacher for grades 1-5.

I have a perfect driving record, do not smoke or drink alcohol. I consider myself very organized, creative, prompt, and emotionally healthy.

Would love the opportunity to be part of a loving family. Thank you for your consideration.

Working with children is my passion! I love providing care for children that in genuine, fun, and full of compassion. I began babysitting for families in my neighborhood while I was in Jr. High around the age of 13. I continued to babysit throughout high school and the beginning years of college. Overall, I have provided care for about 10 different families with children that were infants through late elementary. I have pursued a degree in elementary education and have 1 year left of school but have chosen to take a break and pursue a full-time position as a nanny. I feel very comfortable with school-aged children and have extensive experience with them through my training in teacher education programs and other opportunities. I was a camp counselor for 5 summers. I also worked at a daycare during high school with children age 2-4. I occasionally worked in the infant room as well, but did not spend extensive time in that room. I feel confident and comfortable that with proper information and instructions I can adapt and provide individualized care to children of all ages.
