I began my work with children at an early age of 14 years old. I started my first job at xx where I worked in the kids department. I was in charge of dressing up as the characters, (Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Lucy VanPelt etc.,) I was promoted at xx at the age of 16 years old where I became a Lead and a Shift Supervisor. My duties at xx included: character appearances, cleaning, crafts, character shows with singing and dancing, and family interaction. After xx, I became a summer nanny for a family. My hours were from 7 in the morning to 5 in the evening. I was in charge of cooking, cleaning, fun and everything in between. I took the kiddos (twins and an older boy,) to the swimming pool every day and a cable park, trampoline park and other fun activities every other day. We were always outside in the summer and enjoyed watching Disney channel together. I have since been baby sitting on any given night that I can be helpful to families. As of last year, I have been working at xx where I am currently a Supervisor in the "Ambassador of Fun/ Kids Experience" Department. My duties include: character appearances, selling/ making crafts, watching children alone, reading story time, decorating cookies, balloon twisting, face painting, bingo, other games, and making sure the families are having the best time possible. There has not been a time in my life where I have not been working with children. They are so funny and interesting and always keep me on my feet. I have babysat for more than 6 different families, been a summer nanny, and have paid experience working with children.

Aside from babysitting for many years, I have quite a bit of experience working with children. A few different times when my university schedule allowed, I had started substitute teaching at different grade schools and once at an alternative school for students with severe behavioral problems, and each time I only subbed a few times before the school offered me a more permanent job. I was also a live-in nanny for one summer for a family of three in Maryland! We came in contact through this site. Aside from that, I work in a liscensed daycare right now during university and have passed the childcare and CPR classes needed for that.

I started my childcare experience as a mother's helper when I was in the seventh grade. I worked for a single working mother who needed help sometimes when she was running errands. As I got older, I began to babysit for this family on a regular basis. The only reason I stopped working for this family was because my family moved and the distance was just too far. Then I started babysitting for different families ranging from one child to three. I also was hired by one family to tutor a child in English. For the past two years, I have been working for a wonderful family with one child. The child was 11 months old when I began, and she just had her third birthday! We have become very close, but my husband has been re-located for work and I would love to continue my work as a full-time nanny.

I have been working as a professional in the post-secondary education awareness industry since my graduation from KSU in 2003. While gaining my degree, I worked as an At-home Attendant Care Provider for Pawnee Mental Health in Manhattan, caring for a family of 3, ranging in ages from 3 to 12. I have a great deal of experience working with newborns, infants, toddlers, and grade school children -- including my own 3 nephews and 1 niece. I am also Red Cross certified in First Aid and infant CPR. For over two years now, I have provided daily nanny care for a young lady named Kennedy, who was 4 months old when I began caring for her following her mother's return to work after maternity leave. We enjoy stimulating developmental activities, a great deal of book reading and fun educational outings together. I have experienced such joy and fulfillment as Kennedy's nanny and have grown very close to her, as well as the whole family. Kennedy's older sister currently attends xx school. Kennedy's parents plan to send her to the same school when she is eligible. While it will be very difficult to say goodbye, I am looking forward to taking another sweet child under my care. Additionally, over the last four years I have been caring for an amazing child, named Sam, on a weekly basis. He was only a few months old when I began watching him and now he is five. We get along great because we're both so full of energy, love to read books, do puzzles, play soccer, cars & trucks and much more!

I have been babysitting for various families for over 10 years. Most recently I filled in at a daycare due to a broken leg of the caregiver. This was only for a few weeks, but I helped with meals, naps, diaper changes, and productive play/learning. Also, I started a nanny job for a 18 month old boy. They no longer are in a need of a nanny but are still frequent in my assistance. With this child I watched him about 7 hours a day, 3 days a week. We worked on letters, numbers, colors, etc., as well as daily outings and various play dates. As an education major, I have a strong passion for being around children. From teaching/learning with them and putting them down for a nap to fun play dates and craft projects. I do it all, and love every minute. I think we learn alot from these little ones, and it makes for an exciting life!

Although I am the youngest child in my family I come from a large extended family in which I grew up taking care of my younger cousins. I have always enjoyed being around kids and relating to them on a more personal level instead of treating them inferior to myself. Throughout my high school years I was a babysitter and Summer nanny for a family in Apple Valley. As I left for college in the fall and the kids grew older they were no longer in need of my care. This past Summer I worked for a family with middle school twins. I drove them around to their sporting events and activities, provided meals for them, took them on trips, and really got to know them.
