To Whom it May Concern: The following is a record of my work experience, my background, and a list of personal interests. Thank you for considering me to become a part of your children's lives! My background: My whole life I have lived in Kansas. I was born in KU hospital (Go Jayhawks!), grew up in Kansas City, and now live in northern Overland Park with my new husband! I was homeschooled by my mother from 3rd grade through highschool and loved volunteering with children's programs in my spare time. I discovered my love for working with children when I was just 12 years old through working in a nursery program at my church; I then went on to be a babysitter, nanny, and preschool teacher for the next 9 years. I am now again wanting to be a preschool teacher and invest into some more young lives! My hobbies and interests: I love cooking, I cook as often as I can. Also,, I am a book worm. I love to read and I love to pass on my love of books to children! I especially enjoy classics such as Charles Dickens and Jane Austen, though I am knowledge seeking too; I like to read biographies and books about periods of history. Thanks to my grandmother I love crafts, I especially enjoy creating gifts for people or just making something for decoration. I also like to keep busy; I just finished planning my wedding, got married, and am now doing as much as possible to help my engaged friends plan theirs! During my spare time, I like to go to the park, take walks, and spend time with my husband and family. My childcare experience: Do not let my age fool you, though I am only 21 I have much childcare experience! Since I was very young I have had a heart for anyone younger than me. When, I was 12 my mother became director of the nursery at my church and I was there to help her as much as I could. I began working with the babies and toddlers in the nursery on sundays and by the time I was 14 I was teaching a preschool sunday school class. People often remarked that they never saw me without a child. I began babysitting regularly for several families at 13 and would often help the children with their school work. When I was 15 I began working at a program with the 6-12 month olds and also rotating between infants and toddlers. The year after that I began a second program working with infants, crawlers, and toddlers. When I was 17 I began nannying/babysitting for a family I had known for years, they had a 1 and 2 year old at the time and have since then had another little girl and boy. Also, at 17 I began working at a preschool in Roeland Park, KS as a teaching assistant and last year I got promoted to lead teacher. During the winter of 2010-2011 I worked as an on-call subsititute for a day care program in Fairway with toddlers through preschool age. Last summer I worked as a temporary nanny for a baby who was then 6 months old. After that job ended last October, I became a teacher at a Child Care where worked until May 2013. In addition to working with small children, I also work at my church as a leader/mentor for 6th grade girls and I have volunteered at several summer camps for children, junior high, and high school students. What I will bring to your center: While working at the preschool, I acquired over 30 hours of training in early childhood and have also been infant-adult CPR and first aid certified. Last year I began the Child Development Associate program. I have completed all requirements needed for my certificate, but due to lack of funds I have been unable to receive my certificate. I do have a letter of completion for all of the courses I took for the CDA, a completed portfolio, and I have certificates for all my trainings. I believe in building relationships. That is the most important aspect of child care to me. I want to build a trusting, professional relationship with any family I work with and I want the chidren to feel loved and important. I love to play with children and as a preschool teacher I have a lot of experience planning fun, educational activities. Children's minds need stimulation. I am willing to provide learning experiences, go on field trips, do light house work, care for sick children, cook small meals, and transport children. By choosing me to care for your children, you will be able to have the assurance that your children will be safe, cared about, loved, taught, and will have fun too! Sincerely, Katherine

Hi My name is Subrina and I am currently a Petroleum Engineering at the Metropolitan Community College- Maple Woods. I have been a nanny/babysitter/daycare worker/live-in nanny for 3 and a half years. I started working in Parkville Missouri as a childwatch staff. My duties included caring for children ages 3months-8years old, changing diapers, keeping them active while their parents worked out and sometimes feeding the infants. After 2 years iof working there, I became a part time baby sitter to 3 children ages 3-6 years old. I watched mostly on weekends. I made dinner, cleaned them up for bed and put them to sleep while their parents were out. I did this for a couple months and then landed a full time nanny job with another family. The kids where 2 and 8 years old. I watched the 2 years old from 7am-9am, took her to preschool for two hrs picked her up at 11.30am, made lunch, put her down for nap, took her to the park, changed diapers, worked on educational activities with her and sometimes made dinner. And in between all of this, I was a live-in nanny for a family in Harrisonville Missouri for a month. Currently, I work as a part time substitute teacher at a licensed daycare in the 21/2 to 3 years old room class room. I absolutely love being with kids and would love to have something full time and stable that I could work around my school schedule.

Full-time hours

Right out of high school,I worked as a full time lead teacher at a daycare . I had 40 kids ages Kinder-5th. I helped with homework, fed them snack, set up activities for them to play, read books daily to them during circle time and took them outside everyday that the weather was nice! I held this position for about 1 year. After my daycare job,I found a sweet woman named Anne Marie, who had girl twins. I watched them from infants to about 5 years old. My most recent Nanny position was with this amazing woman named Shannon. She has 2 children, ages 8 and 5. I cared for them about1 year before my boyfriend and I decided to move to Kansas due to his job transfer.

I am the second oldest of 6, and have been raised to help with the younger children (babysitting, etc). I recently Babysat/Nannied for a family with four children (from the time when they were all under 5 years old: a baby, twins that were two, and a 4 1/2 year old; to when they were 2, 4, and 6 1/2). I would help out (making lunch, cleaning etc.) during the day, on some days; then would make supper and put the children to bed at least once a week. I moved further away, and was unable to commute to continue Nannying. I have also worked in an After School Care Center program, where we took care of 70+ children from 3:30-5pm. This included snack-time, outdoor and indoor activities, helping with homework, etc.

I am 1 of 8 children and have 9 nieces and nephews. I have been around kids and caring for them for as long as I can remember. I started babysitting at the age of 12. I became a nanny my first year for college. I have experience with multiples and my degree specializes in infants/ toddlers. I have watched several sets of twins and two sets of triplets, but I have found that every age is very fun! I love them all and have had amazing experiences with each family.
