I began babysitting around the age of fourteen for family and close family friends. I took a class my freshman year in highschool that taught about the child development process and was also hands on with preschool age children. After taking the class I decided I wanted to further my education in early childhood. My final two years of highschool I attended a Miami Valley Career Technology Center in the state of Ohio. In those two years I was taught almost all there is to know about Early Childhood Education. While the classes there were partly bookwork and testing, it was mostly a hands on experience. I spent those two years preparing lesson plans and teaching preschool age students. We were also given the opportunity to travel to different types of daycare centers and spend half of the day working with children in those centers. Prior to the graduation of this program I decided that I wanted to continue working in the field. Shortly after graduation I was employed at a daycare in my hometown. I began my job there as a substitute teacher, working with all age groups at the center, infants - school age. After a month or so I was offered a position as a preschool age teacher.

I started out working with children in my church's nursery when I was 12 years old. I worked there on the weekends and during any special events. By age 15 I had my own room and was the assistant teacher. As of age 16 I stopped working at the church because I got a job at a local daycare. I was working with mostly toddler aged children at this time. I also got a job as a Teacher's assistant for preschool age kids from age 17-18. I have done work as a nanny for all age children, the most prominent being younger babies and preschool-younger kids. I have had experience with babies to teenagers as well though. I am now a mother as well. My baby was born February 18th, 2011. She's the light of my life. Taking care of her has only made my love for children grow even more, and I would love a young one who can interact with her!
