I am an experienced nanny who strives to incorporate indivdual needs, developmentally appropriate activities, and my love of teaching in dealing with each child I care for. In college I began my experience with children by volunteering to tutor special needs children, as an aide in a Montessori classroom, and as a librarians assistant in an elementary school. After graduation, I took a year to teach English in South America. I began as a preschool teacher, first in a toddler room and then in the three/four classroom. I taught computer skills, Spanish, and music in addition to basic math and reading. One of my students needed a caregiver for the summer and I enjoyed the experience so much that I continued as a nanny. My first nanny experience consisted of caring for a one year old and a three year old. I gained more experience by caring for a two year old girl and provided after school care for her four year old brother. Currently, I am looking after a one year old boy. I have been with my current family since their child was two months old, and also cared for him on one week work trips every few months. However, he is going to be heading off to school and so I am looking for another wonderful experience with a new family.

I have been caring for children for as long as I can remember. My paid childcare experiences began at the age of 18 years old. I babysat within my small niche community for family and friends. I cared for children for the first three years I attended college. I gave up babysitting and became a fulltime caregiver for an agency providing services for individuals with special needs. I remained at this job for the next 6 years. While employed with this agency I served as a facilitator, mentor, and provider. After graduating from college I became a full-time nanny to a wonderful family here in the Maryland area. When I started with the family the children were 1 and 3 years old. I was a live-out nanny for one full year. The family relocated to Texas. I was offered the position to relocate with the family, but I declined. I choose to stay in this area to pursue my career in Elementary Education. During this experience as a nanny a fulfilled many roles. I provided services to the family such as cooking, cleaning, and running errands. I assisted in bathing, dressing, and feeding. I provided transportation for child to and from school Monday through Friday. As well as transporting to child's extracurricular activities. I am a strong advocate for promoting education. I encouraged daily learning and reading activities. I loved every second of being apart of this family on a day to day basis. I have always loved children, and I am looking forward to being in a classroom in the near future. Children are truly a gift and can always make me smile. I sincerely enjoy being around children.

My child care experience include 2 families both with 2-3 children. The first family I cared for were twins of 16 months sometimes watching their third child (age 1) if needed. My responsibilities were to play/interact, safety, diaper changing, play dates, snacks, lunch and light housing keeping. The second family I cared for also had twins one with autism. My responsibilities were play/interact, safety (including the pool area), picking up from the bus stop/neighbors house, snacks, lunch, toileting, and light house keeping. Both families were great with communicating their child's needs and what they needed/wanted from me as a nanny. As well as what days of the week they needed me. As a nanny I informed my families of how the day went with the children and any new occurring situations that may have taken place that day.

Switching jobs is really hard for me especially when I have so much passion watching kids. It was such excitement watching my little sailor grow up within the 4 years period I spent with them, he grew up in my arms, right before my eyes. It felt hard leaving but I had to since he was starting care and his parents didn't need my service any more. My first nanny job was quite the same as my previous job. The kids were so smart and they had such a good memory of everything I taught them. The family was relocating to Europe for sometime and so I had to look for another job. It's been so amazing working these jobs. I have experienced so much over the past few years and I am looking forward to more. I always say i have never had kids, but i am more than a mother.I believe children are a blessing and i treat them as such.I believe in the total transformation of the child and i seek to help mould them into beautiful people for the society.Thank you so much and i can’t wait to meet my next family.
