My goal is to spread patience, empathy, and respect to help people live more harmoniously with others and their environment. I believe that children are in such an impressionable state in their lives, that working patiently and honestly with children can help change our world for the better.

Recently, I've picked up a few one-night jobs for date nights and nights that parents' schedules conflict, as well as watching my infant niece and nephew. But I have not yet found the right family to regularly assist. The age of these children range from 10 months to 10 years old; usually caring for 1 or 2 children at a time. In the past, I have volunteered to handle groups of up to 20 students (1st grade) at a time in a school setting for 3 hours at a time. I'm currently attending Blue Ridge Community College, studying Environmental Science Technology. I also work on the weekends at a Zip Line park, making me responsible for up to 13 people at a time. On these trips I focus on safety, fun, and learning, with all ages. I encourage healthy, active, and sustainable lifestyles, so I will be more than happy to help incorporate these ideas in my time with your children. With my experience in a classroom setting, I've found that I am capable of dealing with conflicts between multiple children and I'm always looking for fun ways to encourage learning and playing. I am able to help cook and clean around the house, as well. I often provide care for my grandmother, making me well experienced in those areas.

Hi, I’m julie! I have been a nanny for about 6 years ranging from newborns to big kids! I love working with babies and toddlers. I’ve been an aunt since I was 9 and started babysitting when I was 12. I usually work for parents who need part time care, so I just make tricky schedules work to make up my hours and it’s like a play date all the time. I also love to have play dates with other nanny friends to help kiddos socialize and learn important life skills like sharing, making friends, doing crafts, and working together to make everyone feel included!
I’m also married and have a dog at home. I love pets!

Hello, my name is Rose and I am 19 years old. I helped raise my 5 years old nephew from a baby. I also have a 1-year-old son of my own who was born 6 weeks early at 4lbs, so I learned to be very gentle. My mother would be dropping me off and picking me up but my schedule is very flexible. I can also watch them in my home or yours. I am better with childeren under 2 years old but can easily adapt with older kids. I would be very delighted to care for your child. Thank you for your consideration.

I am a stay at home mother of three. I homeschool my 6 and 2 year old. I love children so much and love watching them learn. I love to play games, read, cook, and teach. The library and park are a few of my favorite places! Being a stay at home mother has its rewards, but it doesn't pay the bills. My family and I are needing to move into a bigger home, that is why I'm trying to earn income. I hope you find a wonderful sitter if we are not a great fit. Have a great day!

What are some common responsibilities for nannies in Asheville, NC?

As a parent, it’s natural for you to ask your nanny for a little extra help around the house. However, the boundaries for a nannies duties vary from person to person. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met. This includes things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active, that they have a healthy diet and a sanitary home. When tasks go beyond child care, for example scrubbing kitchen counters, folding laundry, gathering groceries, or teaching a language, you will likely need to provide additional compensation.

How can I ensure I have a great relationship with my nanny?

To start, it’s important you set expectations and are aligned on compensation from day one. This includes outlining vacation days, a protocol for sick days, and everything else you would want your own employer to cover. From here, spend time getting to know them. Take your nanny out one of Asheville’s great restaurants, learn about their childhood, and discuss your parenting philosophy. Finally, be sure to resolve conflicts as they arise. Open communication is crucial to ensuring a healthy long-term relationship.
