Kimberly R. - Seeking Work in Boiling Spring Lakes

22.85 / hour

Hi!  I am 57, Mother of 3 adult children. 2 by birth and one by love (my daughter's and my own). I have 6 Grandchildren aging from 3 to 12. I am married to a wonderful man. He is retired and makes furniture for a hobby. We live in Southport however, I have worked in Wilmington for a year now and enjoy the drive. I pride myself in not being late, I prefer to be 15 minutes early.  I worked for a Portrait company and traveled, I was lucky to be home 2 nights a month. I was single so the job seemed to fit;  until 2009, I was laid off June of 2009. At which time I started taking care of my Grandchildren, they were 8 months and 4 at that time. When was I called back to work(that August)  I realized that only being home 2 days a month was no longer a life style I wanted. So I became a full time Nanny to my daughter's children. I met my husband in 2011, we were married a year later and I became a housewife. My husband retired in 2015. I have an adult son who is a single disabled Dad to an amazing young lady. My son is in school and soon will graduate in hopes of earning a living as a Massage Therapist. My son lives on almost no income so when my husband retired; I decided to work again in order to supplement my son's income. I knew if I went back to work I needed to do something that my heart loved, this is why I am a Nanny!  I have a magical way with children, just being with children makes me smile and laugh! I enjoy reading, playing inside and out, snuggling and singing, as well as teaching them new skills and directing them in the behavior thats important for children to be happy and healthy (Yes, I go happily by the cues given by their parents) I am tuned by my daughter to be a "crunchy" Grandmother however, I still hear the beats of an old fashioned Mother. So I beleive I have a healthy combination of both.   Thanks, Kimberly
