Loving children is what I do, who couldn't love them,it's all I know. It brings joy to my heart to see their smiles and hear their laughter. What I've learned over the years caring for children is to never underestimate them. Children need structure, and routine. Children will rely on discipline to know that you care to know that you will keep them safe. I believe in communication between parents and caregiver as well as clear communication with the children. Children need boundaries because they will test them just to be sure you're still there for them. I believe in structured discipline, if you prepare children for what is going to happen and explain to them what you expect from them your results will be great.Talking with children in a way they understand of how things should go and what kinds of behavior are acceptable is my first plan, then a reminder of what is expected follows. Then if need be using redirection, and/or time outs.Sometimes just by removing the issue at hand or removing them from the situation can solve the issue. I'm a firm believer in everyone can have a bad day and sometimes just atalk and explaining their feelings and a hug can do wonders. I've raised my own children plus owned my own child daycare and preschool, where I raised many children for 10 years. I have 100+ hours in classes. I've been a private nanny for the past 4 years two little girls. The youngest was 4 months when I started, what an incredible feeling one can get just to watch them grow. I love knowing I had a part in teaching them things in their mile stones in life. I have been caring for people all my life. It's what I do. With my current family I've been caring for these little girls, it's seems like forever. I know time is coming near for they won't need me anymore and it's time to prepare. I'm all for long term commitment with the right family. I enjoy getting out in the community, playground hoping, hands on learning, reading, assets & crafts. Criminal background check you got it. Safe reliable car, absolutely. Loving, attentive, caring, fun nurturing nanny, yes every second of every day! I hope I can be this for you too!

I started working with children at 17. My first experience was working for a daycare center, and I worked there for two and a half years. I started as a floater, but then became a part-time teacher for K-2 and 3-year-old kids. I then went to another daycare and worked with 1 to 2-year-old children. I was working as a nanny for a family with two children, a 4 1/2-year-old and a 17-month-old. The family ended up moving July 8th, 2011, next worked with a little girl who was 4 and going on 5 when they moved back home. I recently was working for a family in Durham and they have a 5 year old boy, I started when he was 2 1/2. He will be starting school in August and will be going full-time. I think over all, I have 14 years of experience working with children. I am a 32 year old who is very loving, caring, responsible, patient and loves to grow a strong friendship with the family, especially with the child/children. I live in Franklinton and I have my own transportation. I ask $12-15 a hour depending if one, two or three children.

What are some common responsibilities for nannies in Franklinton, NC?

As a parent, it’s natural for you to ask your nanny for a little extra help around the house. However, the boundaries for a nannies duties vary from person to person. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met. This includes things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active, that they have a healthy diet and a sanitary home. When tasks go beyond child care, for example scrubbing kitchen counters, folding laundry, gathering groceries, or teaching a language, you will likely need to provide additional compensation.

How can I ensure I have a great relationship with my nanny?

To start, it’s important you set expectations and are aligned on compensation from day one. This includes outlining vacation days, a protocol for sick days, and everything else you would want your own employer to cover. From here, spend time getting to know them. Take your nanny out one of Franklinton’s great restaurants, learn about their childhood, and discuss your parenting philosophy. Finally, be sure to resolve conflicts as they arise. Open communication is crucial to ensuring a healthy long-term relationship.
