My interest in child care started when I was 8 and my youngest sibling was born. I aided my mother a great deal. I started volunteering in the Wednesday morning preschool where my baby sister attended when I was 12. Through that I was offered my first baby sitting job at 14, caring for two young girls a few days a week. All through high school and college I had various babysitting and volunteer positions in a variety of child care settings, including preschool, day care and elementary schools. In 2009 I graduated high school and attended a year of college with a focus in Education. However, this helped me realized I did not wish to be a teacher and so I moved to Colorado to attend a bible school I had already intended to attend after college. While in Colorado I took my first live in nanny position with two children ages 3 and 5. Through the next 3 years I spent time working in day care, baby sitting, and full time nannying working with ages ranging from 3 months-10 years. In 2013 I moved to Pennsylvania for a nanny position working with 4 children ages 10 months-6 years. I was with that family for over a year before accepting an opportunity to work in missions in Brazil for 6 months helping with children's ministry, general administrative work and teaching English. After that I moved the DC area and took a live in position with two school age children. I currently am still employed by them but am recently married and my husband is military being restationed near Jacksonville, NC.

Thank you so much for viewing my profile! I am a substitute teacher (certified by New York State to teach Spanish, grades 7 - 12), but I was a nanny for eight months (left in order to student teach) for two boys (6 months and two and a half years) while I was in grad school at Daemen College in Buffalo, NY. I have my master's of science in education from Daemen College ('12) and my BA in Spanish, minor in education, from the University at Buffalo ('10). Additionally, I have been babysitting since I was 10, and have house sitting experience. I am originally from Buffalo, NY, and my husband and I just moved to Jacksonville for him to teach business, careers, and technology at Jacksonville Commons Middle School. I can care for your child in your home (I have my own car) or in mine, whichever you prefer. I do not have any pets and I do not smoke, nor do I drink alcohol ever. I enjoy being outdoors getting fresh air when the weather is nice, talking walks, playing sports, especially tennis, and playing board games. Also, I love to make art and to do crafts with children such as coloring or painting (washable paints), making fun puppets, dioramas, hats, etc. from paper and glue, and making everything that I do with children educational. I am a singer and guitar player, and I really like to create music with children when possible.

I spent a month in Florida taking care of a baby who was 10 months. Since we spent a lot of time together, he learned how to crawl, sit and walk with me. It was amazing! Before that I worked for a family for 6 months in VA taking care of 3 kids. My schedule was from 7:30am to 6pm. But mostly with a break between that time while kids were at school. I really enjoyed being part of that family. And my first experience here in the US was with a family in Texas where I was taking care of 3 kids and a baby.
