Caring for Kasey was wonderful.I started when she was 8wks old. Her mother made up this brilliant chart so I could write down our day..sleep,feedings,diaper changes. Then new foods, expressions, what she did,learned...colors,alphabet,numbers,animals,words.Then outings, parks, playgrounds, pools, feeding big coy fish!of course washing face&hands brushing teeth (and making up songs for it).Potty training, bath time, getting dressed. All the while working with Mom&Dad so we were all on the same page....time-outs...tantrums(all part of childcare). And I would hope that having a nanny around lessened the stress on her parents. My experience has been great.I still keep in touch with Kasey, she is 7 now.Where does the time go? Mikayla, was also a joy.started caring for her when she was 2 and a half mos. She is 4 now. Both jobs ended when they started daycare. Kasey in second grade is reading at 5th grade level. Mikayla, knew all her letters, numbers, colors, vowels, and lots of songs she can sing on her own.could spell her own name and write it, before she went to the daycare at 3yrs old. I had my first baby sitting job when I was 12,& baby sat all thru high school.after 2yr. College degree in art & interior design, I got married, had two children of my own. Had a career in sales/custom design furniture. In 1999 was blessed with my first grandson, in 2005 a second grandson! I enjoy infants and toddlers, so I decided to become a Nanny/Babysitter full time.

Health education teacher looking for full time nanny position! For the last year and a half I had a family of twins who I cared for and adored. The mother had a change in careers and no longer needed my services so I and now looking for a new family to care to! I am originally from Syracuse, NY. I moved down to Long Island four years ago. I attended Adelphi Univeristy graduating January 2014 with my bachelors in Health education qualifying me to teach health education k-12. The job market is very difficult right now for teaching and subbing positions so i am currently looking for a full time nanny position. Because i am health education, i am CPR certified and very educated on creative ideas on how to keep kids moving and healthy. I have worked with children for 9 years from baby sitting, camp counselor, taking care of family and now teaching. My teaching was specifically done in the Massapequa and Baldwin school districts.

My previous experience with babysitting started at the age of 14 with my first job, that included my siblings and others around my neighborhood. I later became a part-time assistant at a local gym in the daycare facility working with groups of children while parents did their daily workout routine. Later on, I joined a dance class in the same gym. In my spare time, I taught dance to children as an after-school program beginning with dancing then after school homework assignments. After graduating and exploring the world, I later returned to help with my mother's day care facility later in age. I've also had the chance to help a family of six with triplets and another family of five as a part-time nanny. I've spent time with kids of all ages (0-19) tending to all the needs of the business. And now I'm currently a teacher's aide at a school near by. I enjoy children and helping in any way I can. I'm definitely having fun doing it throughout my life.

What are some common responsibilities for nannies in Freeport, NY?

As a parent, it’s natural for you to ask your nanny for a little extra help around the house. However, the boundaries for a nannies duties vary from person to person. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met. This includes things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active, that they have a healthy diet and a sanitary home. When tasks go beyond child care, for example scrubbing kitchen counters, folding laundry, gathering groceries, or teaching a language, you will likely need to provide additional compensation.

How can I ensure I have a great relationship with my nanny?

To start, it’s important you set expectations and are aligned on compensation from day one. This includes outlining vacation days, a protocol for sick days, and everything else you would want your own employer to cover. From here, spend time getting to know them. Take your nanny out one of Freeport’s great restaurants, learn about their childhood, and discuss your parenting philosophy. Finally, be sure to resolve conflicts as they arise. Open communication is crucial to ensuring a healthy long-term relationship.
